No thank you! That's what Gainey thought when he gave up a first and a second for him but suffered buyer's remorse. The season he played in Montréal was something I don't enjoy thinking about. He didn't last in Tampa either.I wish the Habs had had those picks back.

If the Habs are thinking about a top four d-man I would prefer Regehr. I'm hoping that Weber and / or Subban can develop enough to pick up the offensive slack. I wouldn't have a problem with Kaberle either but I just don't think it will have happen. Regehr seems more realistic.

Regehr / Hamrlik - Spacek

Regehr / Hamrlik - Subban

Gorges - Weber / Picard

Ooops........where's Gill. Yes I know he kills penalties. But last night with all of the PP time and 4 on 4 he was rendered pretty useless. Regehr can kill penalties and do some other stuff too. Trade Gill to San Jose for something. Regehr is solid, eats minutes, he's only 30 and locked up for a few years at a decent price. If the Habs are going to trade an asset(s) it would be nice if it would be for more than just a rental.

Is Markov listed on IR. If not why?

I have always liked Andrew Brunette. He is unbelievably consistent. He is having a bit of an off year but I feel he would gel instantly on this team. He is a Martin type player through and through. His salary is 2.5 mil so there would still be room for a D replacement if needed. Regher would be beautiful but not very likely.

Because until the Habs decide on a course of action, there's no real need. He can be retroactively placed on the IR.

Glencross is a better Kostopolous
David Moss is 6'2, but kinda soft and hasn't shown much since his 20 goal season.

David Clarkson is a tough guy who could help grind it out for us in the playoffs, score goals and add toughness to the lineup.
Chuck Kobasew is about 6'0 fast, tough and seems to be a good team guy. He has hands, but sometimes those hands disappear for stetches.
Gilbert Brule would help add to our collection of 05 draftees. He, is a lot like Kobasew in that he's fast, physical and can score. He's another right handed shot too.
Langs and Dumont are Langs and Dumont.
Jones could be a solid option to add.

My homer pick would be Troy Browuer, of course.

Is Mike Knuble still playing top-6 minutes with the Caps? I haven't really seen them this year, so I don't know what his staus is with them, and I doubt they would be willing to move him anyway, but he's be a great rental, IMO.

Agreed on Brunette, very consistent player not sure if it would work out here but you never know + he is the last player to ever score on P. Roy

Holy -- didn't know he was 37. I thought he was like 30-32.

But anyway, yeah, looking at his stats, the guy's definitely pretty steady.

Devils fans have been hating on him pretty hard this year, more than any other player. I'd like to know why.

They say he shows no effort and hustle and brings no leadership.

I just think he needs a change of scenery with a new team to give a new a challenge.

And there's no way we're getting David Jones. He's really injury prone but he's a very good underated goal scorer for the Avs.

Yeah I know Jones is more a dream, but with all their offensive guy avs are likely to trade one.
