there's an easier method, no smilies needed. Just look at the username, if it says 'overlords', chances are it's sarcasm.

I used to have to take the STM (470) then the STL (151) to work and I agree, STL was always worse.

Now I'm STL only (moved to an area where I can take the train/metro to the 151) and they've been decent so far, granted I was sick and didn't go in at all on Monday when the snow was at its worst so I can't comment on that.

STL buses have a history of vanishing as soon as the slightest droplet of precipitation falls from the sky though.

It's the same thing everywhere, i don't know one single city that the population doesn't complain about the bus.

When i'm this king of situation, I'm telling myself if the bus is 30 min late it's for a reason, they don't plan to be late just to piss off the population.

Singapore. I believe you have a 200$ fine if you complain.

But then again, it's quite a fine city.

My streetís snow banks are 1.5 times my height, but no, Mr. Plow wonít be cleaning it up anytime soon.

It also got to the point where I have to leave my house 2.5 hours before an exam because you never know what adventure the bus and metro service will throw at you.

Yeah and that's because they know how crappy the city and the system is.

My father work for the STO (outaouais bus) and over here they know everything is going to be late, stuck in traffic or construction. They are laffing about it and make joke with the customer etc. It's probably the same thing in Montreal.

Edit: Oh i saw the sarcastic guy afterwards.... well in Gatineau they are nice.

And at least the drivers are very patient and courteous and there are never any traffic jams and barely ever any construction!

Some of them are but some are just plain rude. I used to live in NDG and I was on the 85(I think) anyway the one that goes from Vendome down Sherbrooke. Bus is always, always packed so the drivers are just completely on edge and not exactly friendly. Anyway we get to an intersection where there is a car on fire and everyone is staring at this obviously. I was right at the front and asked the driver if he'd seen what happened and he ignored me. I switched to French and he screamed out something around the lines of "what am I your ****ing tour guide" or something like that. That was my first month in Montreal. I stopped talking to them after that.

I only take metro now but when i used to take bus it was all the same. You kind of learn to deal over time. Even now, If i start class at say 8:45 am, I get there at 8:15...even if im driving. It's a winter thing. Always leave earlier. If anyone expects to get there on time leaving same time as usual, then you kind of deserve it, but if you leave earlier and get screwed, it really sucks.

There's actually an even easier method, once you read 'overlords' you just stop reading.

When that happens, I bang on the door/side of the bus as hard as possible. He then stops and asks me what's my problem. I step in and told him he's obviously blind 'cause he didn't saw me running toward him, so he probably needed auditive cue.

He tells me not to do it again, I tell him to actually check and service those who pay his salary.

... And then you have that really creepy bus driver that's just too happy and can't stop singing (not horribly at least) during the entire ride -> On the 165 back in the day

Bad idea, for the simple reason you must not let the bus escape for a single inch, or the bus driver then simply drowns his conscience with "It's too late to stop now". So you must run as fast as the bus goes.

If there are pedestrians that could be crushed by him, it means the bus will go quite fast indeed.

Send a message via AIM to Ncrdrg Send a message via MSN to Ncrdrg
This is exactly why I'm eager to see them finally implement the "track when the bus is coming with your cellphone" system.

So I can actually know if I can just walk back and wait inside, if the bus was too early and I missed or stuff like that.
