Giroux #2 center in the league behind Crosby
Did anyone just hear the Versus guys saying Giroux is the second best center in the NHL. Man, I love the kid....but #2?

I know. Those guys at versus are nuts. Giroux is clearly the #1 center in the league over Crosby.

Did he really say that?
I doubt it. Even announcers aren't that retarded.

The original statement in the pregame was that Giroux is the BEST center in the league.

Yes, he did.
"There's no better center in the league than Claude Giroux."
Engblom is a moron.

He isn't even the best center on this team yet.

Wow. That's mind-numbingly dumb.
I'm guessing it was just a brain-fart moment for him or something because that has to be the only explanation.

it was pretty classic. If my memory is right it was something like this:
Engblom: ...and that is why Claude Giroux is the most talented and best center in the game today
Eddie: Really? The best center?
Engblom: That's right.
Eddie: *stunned silence*

In that case, I want to see Engblom become the Pens GM. It'd be like Milbury 2.0, except worse and with the Pens.

That's the only way to make it even remotely fair.

Not only did he say it, he then backed it up by saying
"Well, Crosby is the best center in the league right now. But after that, I would put Claude Giroux up against anyone in the league"
He is one of the best centers on this team. Probably in the top 5 young centers in the game. But second in the league - even I think that is laughable!

I don't know if it changes his meaning, but he said there isn't a better centerman in the game right now than Claude Giroux. Maybe he was just referring to Giroux's streak of great play early this season?

Even then 3rd would be the absolute most you could push it and that would still be debatable

I agree, I laughed out loud when I heard him say it. I'm just saying maybe he forgot about the one guy on the Pens or that other dude in Florida who scores all those nifty goals.

If he is going to be moved to the wing it needs to be with JvR and Richards, not Zherdev and Carter. It is a waste of his ice time.

That, too, wouldn't make any sense considering Crosby is averaging like 2 PPG over the last 15 odd games.

My first thought when he said that was
VIDEO
and I'm a huge Giroux homer.
