Fedotenko on the first line? Why not Avery with Gaborik?

I too don’t get Avery bumped to the fourth line w/ Dr. shootout …. Glad to see AA getting some second line time…..

Boyle, Prust and Avery are a great line….. Do it Torts!

I can honestly see this game going either way tonight.

What will they do with the time they've had off to practice on special teams, the neutral zone and the small details they needed to sharpen up?

Will they come out hard and strong and keep the game plan in perspective for 60 minutes? Or will they be over thinking and complicating the game. I think it helps that this game is on the road, but I thin it hurts its in Ottawa, for two reasons. 1. They do NOT play well up there, especially Lundqvist - so am eager to see whos getting the start. and 2. This is a home and home which usually bodes well for the team that lost the first one, but its 3 days apart and Ottawa lost another in between.

I'd like to see Gaborik take control of this game. He doesnt even have to score, i just want to see him back up defenders, use his speed to open up the neutral zone and get some wrist shots off from prime areas off the rush. He needs to start shooting in open ice.

Which reminds me - the Rangers have to start shooting more, from all angles. Go to the net and get some rebounds. Leclaire was good the last start against them and i expect them to start him again - but he was leaving some juicy rebounds in front that the Rangers werent getting to.

A win here would be nice. Hopefully its a win featuring a solid PP and it reinforces what they've worked on in practice, because theyll need that type of game with some tough competition ahead and a back to back this weekend.

Fedotenko seems a bit of a strange choice for the top line. I like the way he's played though.

5 Right handed dmen dressed tonight.

Have a bad feeling it's going to be our downfall in the game.

I don't like it either, but we needed to send a message.

This will likely only be a one game thing unless Gilroy shreds.

I'm all for message sending when messages need to be sent (this case being one of them) but not at the expense of the team.

If you wanted to sit DZ for a game, Vtank should've been called up. Right now I think it hurts the team more than it helps it.

Staal - Girardi
Eminger - Rozy
Gilroy - Sauer

Come on...I understand if you're gonna sit a guy you want to play Gilroy but dressing 5 right handed dmen is just plain stupid I think. Dress Gilroy if you need to sit a RH shot. If you need to sit DZ call up a LH shot. I don't know...we'll see how it goes.

Some teams play 6 LD, I know this is highly unusual for us but Eminger has been fine, if not really solid at the spot.

I see a couple bungled pucks at the point, but aside form that not many major problems against a pretty weak offensive team.

We can always run Sauer on the left side PK wise, anyways.

I honeslty like scratching DZ. Just between the penguin game and Islander game I think he missed about 10-15 shots that should have hit the net. Not to mention how many terrible turnovers he has had this year.

OK, so two D-men are now being asked to move to the opposite side...yeah, that's going to work well, especially when one of them is Gilroy.

Del Zotto scratched has been a long time coming, but I'm confident with the way this kid carries himself that the results will be positive from this.

Del Zotto needs to lose the one-handed stick carry.

He never did that last year, I can only conclude that he learned it at Gary Roberts camp, and its directly led to 2 goals against this year.

Aside from that, my major critique of Del Zotto is trying to do too much by himself. He doesnt need 40 points a season to start his career. He just needs to be steady and the points will come. Just look at Dan Girardi. Does he force any of his points? Hell no.

This, sometimes a kid needs a wake up call and watching how simple things look from uptop for a game could light a fire under him!

Good to see DZ's comments on Gross' blog, seems to have taken it well; I hate to think what Frolov would have said if he was sitting his butt down for a game.

Insert Del Zotto for Richards trade rumors or Gilroy being showcased rumors here.

No...joking aside (I think) Del Zotto has been atrocious in his zone along w his outlet plays so far this season.
