Anyone else as thrilled as me to see Artem, Ryan, and Brandon back together? I didn't see any reason to break them up in the first place and that line hasn't done anything with Stepan as the center.

At this point I would just keep the lineup as is and let Stepan and Gaborik work on chemistry. It'll come they are both good, smart players.

Del Zotto being scratched I have mixed feelings about it.

Why can't Rozsival be scratched?? Its not like he is playing better than Del Zotto.

On Fedotenko on the first line, I don't mind it. His defensive play can help cause turnovers...

You're right, he's not playing better than Del Zotto. He's playing much better than Del Zotto.

They better come out flying after that performance last game.

Really happy to see the Pack line back together, hoping for a big game from that line.

LETS GO RANGERS!! JUST ****ING WIN!

Yeah I love MDZ but you have to question whether or not someone is actually watching the games with a statement like that.

Great move by Torts to scratch Del Zotto.

He needs a serious wake up call.

The Del Zotto scratch is long over due. Should have happened a month ago.

Rozy hasn't single handedly lost us any games this year. MDZ has.

He has 1 more point in 9 less games, ect.

Rozy already took 9 games off due to injury. Its time for Del Zotto to sit at least one. The coaching staff needs to convey that he needs to be a lotter better than he has been.

Agree, he let him work out of it after that game in Colorado - but hes been meh. He needs a long period off here to get his head screwed on straight. Good timing.

Side thought: NYC too much for the kid? Hope not.

I think scratching DZ was the right move. I think he will respond to it well.

He's really young still and of course playing time is the only way to get better, but sitting him one game isn't going to hurt. Young players can't be given a pass throughout the whole season, DZ needs to realize that if he keeps playing bad he isn't going to be in the line up or receive a significant amount playing time.

Thank god MDZ is scratched.

Maybe now he'll realize he's a damn hockey player and not a power ranger from bel air.

I'm gonna say this is gonna be a HUGE game. If we lose, we will look back at this game as one of those 2 points that got away. I'm also excited about the Gilroy-Sauer pairing. Sauer has the poise and defensive skill to cover for Gilroy and make Gilroy both comfortable and look good. A confident Gilroy should do well. The bigger issue, however is a consistent Gilroy. That could take more time than Rangers have patience for.

I'd also like to see a MDZ-Sauer pairing for the same reason. I also forgot about that Gary Roberts camp. Doesn't feel like it's helped his game much. I need to watch more games though...

Hopefully this can wake up MDZ, I think it will actually. He has some time off and hopefully is working on a few things. (hitting the net)

Love Del Zotto, but this is 100% true. Since Rozsival has come back, he's been extremely solid defensively, and decent offensively. Hopefully he can keep it up throughout the season.

Unfortunately, DZ earned himself this scratch. Hopefully he learns something from it.

This scratch for DZ should be a wake up call. I agree with the decision and I expect him to come out strong his next game. Also pumped to see the Pack line back together. I see 3 goals coming from that line tonight

Hopefully this scratch has the same effect on MDZ as it did on Callahan, who hasn't looked back since.

The del zotto scratch is way overdue, tho I think it will do some good I think it would have done much more between 5 and 10 games ago.

agreed...his game has settled down somewhat since that horrific game against the Aves.

that said i don't mind the scratch and honestly wouldn't even mind sending him down to the AHL to work on some kinks for a while.

We could showcase Gilroy for the deadline and hopefully get some sort of return for him, than call MDZ back up and let him play out the rest of the year. Just an idea

Absolutely true.

No, he needs a deep breath and a game or two off to regroup. The Rangers have thrown a lot at him since the day he walked in the door. He's generally 3-4 in ice time among defensemen. He needs to clear his head a little and play a simple game. I hardly see it as a wake up call, if anything he has been pressing too hard.
