The del zotto scratch is way overdue, tho I think it will do some good I think it would have done much more between 5 and 10 games ago.

We could showcase Gilroy for the deadline and hopefully get some sort of return for him, than call MDZ back up and let him play out the rest of the year. Just an idea
Yea the scratch wouldve served it's purpose after that avs game. Since then he's tightened it up somewhat. At the beginnin of the season when he was playing ahl level defense contributing next to no offense the ahl could have been and option but now a demotion to the 3rd pairing or a few scratches would do the trick he's an NHL level player now he just needs a breather to step back and evaluate himself hopefully he's done that the past few days and tonight. An ahl demotion is a but much at this point in his career. I'm sure he knew about it ahead of time. I do agree we should try and play gilroy as much as possible to showcase him, he's capable but I doubt a lot of gms know that.

I want to see these lines:

Avery-Stepan-Gaborik
Dubinsky-Anisimov-Callahan
Frolov-Christensen-White
Fedotenko-Boyle-Prust

I like those lines. The only thing I would do is put EC on the first line. He likes to play with gabby, I would also switch white down to the 4th.

Well, he lit us up in the pre-season too with a hatty, remember. Gotta put two guys on him!

Seriously though, I don't want to see that happen ever again. Kelly hadn't scored a goal in 14 games before the game on Sunday...

Here's hoping to an entertaining game...

...wait a sec. I honestly thought Sunday's game was a lot of fun to watch, right up to the point where I turned it off in disgust with 2 minutes left.

Get DirecTV - they always have the Rangers feed in HD, and most of the time the away team's feed in HD too. The only ones that aren't are Canadian broadcasts (they don't have Ottawa's available at all this time, for instance - but that's a rarity). Flames/Leafs/Oilers/Canucks are usually SD only.

No no no, Avery worked to well (at times) with gabby torts can't have them together anymore. And fedotenkos offensive abilities can no long be misused with 3/4 line minutes it really does amaze me that torts didnt keep gabs and Avery together, it was just way to logical.

Christen likes to play with gabby but I like consistent scorers on my first line..... Can't always get what u want and since he can't be a consistent offensive threat he doesn't get to play with gabby plain and simple....

I love how torts takes joabs at gaboriks play and gabby jabs right back saying he'd like consistent linemates. I totally agree with gabs

I agree with both of them, which is why I think this could be a dangerous disagreement between the two. There's no winning an argument when both sides are right.

I meant to write the Gabby likes to play with Christensen. When you have a player of Gabby's caliber, you listen to his input a little bit.

Gaborik has shown he can produce on his own effectively. Right now he hasn't shown that consistently, imo. That's where torts is right.

However, I think he should be given atleast one consistent linemate. I like the idea I read in another thread (maybe this thread?) of torts assigning a center and winger to each line, letting the other wingers be interchanged so torts can still shake things up.

Oh ok I didn't know who said what, but you give gabby what he wants and I don't really understand why torts had to sword everything up around gabby because they didn't produce against ottowa, they seamed fine in the games prior.

Maybe we need a new version of the Leetch shadow job on Pavel Bure for Chris Kelly.

Maybe a lot us underestimated Prospal's value / role in enhancing Gaborik's game last season and not just the other way around.
