If you enter Jonsson and pick Kenny then you get ..
New York Islanders traded Wendel Clark, Mathieu Schneider and D.J. Smith to the Toronto Maple Leafs for Darby Hendrickson, Sean Haggerty, Kenny Jonsson and 1st round selection (Roberto Luongo) in 1997.
The way I see it, could have been worse.
We could have had the 1st overall pick and lost Thornton
that would hurt me even more.
Interesting - I'm not sure which of the two more people would rather have more on their team... I'm pretty sure you'd find that Luongo would be taken over Thornton, though it's kind of like picking between Doublemint twins.
Obviously it's similarly worth nothing that the trade was made over a year before the 1997 draft, so it's not like the Leafs knew they were trading the #4 pick. When adding Clark and Schneider, I have to think that they expected to do a bit better than 4th last.
