No exams for Journalism students. Win.

(Yeah, yeah, I know how stupid I am to get into Journalism. Sue me.)

Desc was incredibly easy; basically the Eisel questions slightly reworded.

Easiest exam I've ever written! I didn't read the book, barely did anything in EISEL, and I still wrote the final in only 35 minutes and got an A+. Oh how I miss BComm intro courses!

Exam tomorrow morning at 9 AM....damnit. This is why living on the south shore sucks, the weather is gonna force me to leave at 6:30 just to get in on time and avoid the traffic due to the snow/freezing rain/whatever.

And of course Concordia doesn't have a contingency plan like McGill.

It was hard to get started on them. Once you get going, though, it's good.

I actually found the Access Mini-Case easier than the Excel Mini-case

You may want to get a job when you are finished. An engineering degree is marketable.

Anyways, I'm on the fence on whether to pursue engineering next year or life sciences. I love biology, I enjoy both chemistry and maths, and I can deal with physics. But, like, life sciences is such a broad term, and so is engineering is some cases. So, yeah.

Just wondering if any of you that are in either of these programs (or any specific branch of them) could let me know how you like your classes, campuses, communities, etc. Any feedback would be nice. I got accepted to life sci at U of T, and engi at Mac and U of T (only mining engi right now, waiting for response from track one), so any info on those would be extremely nice too.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, same thing for me (took the class last year). Exam format has change from what I heard though: my final was 60 MC, 60 matching, but I heard that there are short answer questions on the exam now.

Same thing with COMM 308 - we were allowed a cheat sheet last year, but my friend told me that has changed as well...good thing I took these classes early into my program.

EDIT: Wait, the cases are for Desc 200? Damn...I had those cases for COMM 301 (now known as COMM 226 - MIS).

EDIT2: Actually that's wrong, had the cases for Desc 200...damn it's been a while.

Yes, we're talking about Desc, which is 120 MC.

I think I'm taking COMM 226 next semester, actually. How is it?

Very easy...make sure you take the online section though.

And yeah, now that I remember, the cases were for Desc 200...it's just that I had the same prof for both courses and took them online. Get's very confusing.

My big assignment for MIS was creating a website for a business model (group project - groups are made through the online forum). Very easy stuff if someone in your group knows how to use Dreamweaver. The exam was extremely easy and there's always an online database full of MC questions to be found online that can help you prepare. EISEL is used again, but it's not all that helpful with regards to the final exam. The questions also do not relate to the chapters listed in the book for some reason, and the questions sets ALWAYS change, unlike Desc 200. I don't know if this was fixed, but EISEL was a huge problem last year when I took MIS. Still was able to get an A despite EISEL being a waste of space.

Is there a difference between the online section and the in-class sections?
