We looked so damn good in the third. Shame we couldn't play with the same urgency all game. Honestly, refereeing or not, we were not the better team for the most part tonight. We played 20 minutes of a 60 minute game.

I'm just glad the habs play in the east, this game made pens games look fair and balanced

I hate to blame the refs because it annoys me to no end when the fans of other team's do it when we beat them, but... It's hard to not fault the refs here. The penalty calls were incredibly one-sided.

I'm not taking anything away from Detroit. They made the most of their chances, and the first period really demonstrated how freakishly dominating the Red Wings can be.

Still, the reffing in this game was brutal, and may have made the difference...

It would've been nice if the refs didn't put the whistles away in the 3rd.

I mean they called some pretty chincy calls on the Habs in the 1st while ignoring blatant penalties against the Wings in the 3rd.

Except for those penalties, we played Wings even 5-on-5 and dominated them in the 3rd.

This team has a lot of heart. We deserved a lot better but no shame.

They never quit.

Although I HATE Spacek right now. What a dumb ass play at the blueline.

Of course, I don't hate him as much as I hate CBC. You should hear them now.
*** glowing over the Detroit win.

That stupid blind pass by Spachit is unexcusable and unexplainable, unless he is retarded. I just can't believe he did that. You have guys playing their hearts out and you have this moron committing an idiotic play to end the game.

And about the refs, it's quite typical of Wings-Habs games. If it was the Habs leading 3-2, I guarantee you the refs would have called penalties on the Habs no matter how late in the game, if they committed the same amount of interference and holding as the Wings did in the 3rd.

I don't understand JM. Spacek plays like **** for 3 months and keeps his regular shift. Andrei has a one "bad" game and he gets benched. This guy is one of the purest goal scorer on this team and he gets benched when the team needs a goal.

Why the **** doesn't put Spacek in the freaking box and let Weber play with either Hamrlik or Picard so both Weber and Subban can play.

Good game

Eventhough they spent so much time in the box, I thought they managed to hold on pretty well... Detroit is one sick team though, wish they played in the East, they're fun to watch.

Also, it's the last time I'm ever watching a game on CBC. Montreal was pretty much invisible to the broadcasters. Lidstrom this, Datsyuk that, "Oh what a save by Howard".. the best though was "Datsyuk and Zetterberg could be the top scorers of the league, but they rather gain the 2 points instead of scoring points"!! I understood when they were biased versus the Leafs or Sens, but against the Red Wings? Really? And Glenn Healy is such an idiot, I just can't stand him...

If Montreal plays like that tomorrow, they win easily. Hopefully this doesn't discourage the team.

They played only 30 minutes tonight tho. A good ten minutes and a great 20 minutes. It was what was in between that killed them.

Don't like blaming refs but this just proves how not making the calls impacts a game adversely too. Its not just about the calls refs make, its ones they ignore as well.

Detroit committed more fouls in that third than Montreal did all game. NHL is a ****ing joke league when it comes to the refs.

Well you couldn't do much in the first with the calls that even I will say are questionable. Whistles were pocketed towards the end.

The goalies were great tonight.

it's just ****ing mind blowing that for two periods they went down when they got breathed on..but suddenly it's old school hockey in the third as habs are getting held, tackled and corkscrewed during their 20 shots.

0-8-0 when entering the third trailing.
Although, this time we almost got it back. If it wasn't for Howard's heroics, Subban would've potted the tying goal. I don't know what's up with this team, but we very rarely play a good second period, and that's why we're losing when we lose, often times. A GREAT third period by the guys though, so at least we have momentum from that going into the game tomorrow.

The non call on Rafalsky was brutal, making it worse was the fact that it was in the middle of 5 straight Detroit PP's. In the 3rd it was WWF rules, Detroit got away with 3 or 4 crosschecks not called, plus Lidstrom should have had a couple of obstruction calls.

Reffing was kind of questionable. Our calls were legit but some were pretty strict. If the calls were going that easily one way, Red Wings should have at least got another in that 3rd. But oh well....you can't blame stuff on the refs. You gotta be accountable for your own losses. And Detroit played awesome for the first 2 periods. What amazing passing they have. They are like a well oiled machine.

Adding another good top 6 guy would help us out alot.

It's pretty hard to have the upper hand when you spend half the 1st shorthanded, including a 5 on 3.

No wonder he's getting Lady Byng consideration, he's got penalty immunity playing in Detroit.
