Panthers and bruins minor deal

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers general manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has acquired F Jeff LoVecchio (Providence – AHL) and F Jordan Knackstedt (Providence – AHL) from the Boston Bruins in exchange for D Sean Zimmerman (Rochester – AHL) and a conditional seventh round draft pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Knackstedt has played 22 games this year for the Providence Bruins (AHL), scoring seven goals and five assists for 12 points. For his career in the AHL, the Saskatoon, Sask. native has played in 165 games, scoring 33 goals and 99 points.

This should help with some of the depth problems plaguing Weber's team. I can see this as holding them over until Thomas & McArdle/Dadonov are returned.

i know nothing about them save for the few fight videos on utube.. anyone with a quick scouting report?

Zimmerman was one of the Amerks better defensemen, on a team where defense is a weakness. These 2 guys seem like pretty average forwards. No big deal. Team won't improve or get worse.

LoVecchio scored last nite on an assist from Knackstedt. They're being centered by AJ Jenks but sounds like Knackstedt did all the work on that goal.
