first, @flountown, that would be very nice! just that you are not disappointed: i know jack about australia but i now a little bit about mozart, skiing and my grandmother went into class with arnold schwareneggers mother (in other words i'm from austria, not australia )

i arrived in philadelphia yesterday and should allready be at the conference (and not on hf ) but i just have to write to the people suggesting to me to get good and close to ice tickets. .. i am sitting in the FIRST row

i figured it's a one time in a lifetime experience and i'm getting the tickets as an early xmas present

man, i'm excited
I bought a first row ticket earlier this year and have no regrets. Great experience. Definitely get there early for warmups.

Sections 102 and 112 are my Personal favorite its right on the Blue line where the Flyers shoot 2wice, Rows 10-like 17 are great seats in either of those sections. It's lower bowl (lower level same difference) and the seats are generally reasonably priced in around the 100-150 range on Stubhub anyway. Have fun and good luck. Chikies and Pete's is walking distance from the stadium if you don't mind walking a bit or like others have mentioned they have a shuttle for customers.

Ceky, have fun! I've been a Flyer fan since 1974 and have never been to Philly so I am really happy for you. Front row is great, yes you will miss some plays because you're close but the game is shown on the scoreboard so you won't miss a thing, and when something happens in front of you you'll have the best seat in the house.

thanks everybody for the nice tipps and for "watering my mouth" before the game!

i'm sitting section 103, so right at the corner where i hope i see lots of checking

one more question i would have, where can i buy reasonably prized flyers fanware? (maybe a jacket or a shirt)

At 8th and market there is a Modell's in the mall. You should actually have a 15% coupon on the back of your ticket, as well as I am sure they would have a few things on clearance as well.

If you can find a Modell's or a Dick's Sporting goods they are probably cheapest outside of that I d not know. Just google one or the other and I'm sure you'll find one close to wherever you are

I was in 103, row 1, seat 3. Same seat?

I took a few photos at the game, if you want to see what the view is like: http://www.flickr.com/photos/robsogo...7625190529011/

Kinda OT:

I just want to add that there are a lot austrians on hfboards. I am watching the NHL for 15 years now and I wouldn't call myself as a "fan" of any nhl franchise because the distance is too big. There are a few teams I like.

But I really like the sabres. Not just because of Vanek. I always loved the work of goalies and when I started watching the NHL Hasek was the most dominant man. And he played for the sabres.

I follow the games of the Islanders and the Flyers just because I want to onow how the austrians are doing there. And I have to say that I start liking their teams too.

Austrians and Brits complaining about a lack of representation? How do you think I feel? I don't think there has ever been an actual Chinaman in the league.

I actually prefer the upper bowl. It's cheaper (I'm frugal) and you get a much better view of the ice. It's also nice for people watching in case of lulls in the game. And yes, if it's a rivalry game, there's usually some decent action too.

ok, just came back from a shopping spree...

thanks a lot for the modells-tipp! i got a very cool flyers sweater and a winter classics flyers shirt! yeah!

(....and lots more, if the doller did rise over the last days I am in troubles financially )

@luceni: yeah i guess it something similar for me, started getting into hockey watching the hockey worldcup games when they where broadcasted in austria (and we hosted the cup 2 times, which was fun) and really started getting into it while buffalo was in the playoffs few years ago, it was also broadcasted live because of vanek...

thats why a) i believed for a looong time that heatley was the best player on the planet (WC.....) b) started beeing a sabres fan first

i think it very hard to imagine (maybe even a little heretic) for a die hard hockey fan over here that you can become fan of 2 teams, but this is kind of what happened... i really like the working mentality of nodl, i love the grit of the flyers (especially while buffalo is playing so soft) and i simply love the interviews of pronger

If you've never seen the Big Lebowski, do yourself a favor and rent it immediately.
