that shift toward the end of the game yesterday by carcillo-betts-powe...man, it really made you miss carcillo-betts-lappy. it was nice to see our fourth line play at a key moment and be able to keep the puck in their end for a good amount of time. i'm sure lavi noticed this and plans to use this line again...this is basically do or die time for zherdev.

Yeah. I'd love to see the Carbomb - Betts - Lappy line back.

But the more and more I think about Lappy I think retirement. Poor guy, what a class act. Nothing short of a warrior.

Not that i care about Shelley, but Semin gets a fine for purposefully crosschecking someone in the face, and unintentional (yes stupid and dangerous) contact on an icing will likely get Shelly suspended for a few games.

It's not even worth getting upset about NHL discipline any more. Everyone and their mothers know its a total joke

I am probably in the minority, but I saw the Semin thing, whatever, if someone crosschecks me, I am going to crosscheck them back, crappy luck he took it to the back of the head and dropped like a ton of bricks. I would say slightly embellished.

Jody Shelley will be forced to be on the top line and all top PP units for the next 25 games--
"Mr. Bettman and I felt a suspension wouldnt be right. Forcing the Flyers to play him on the top line would help our Pittsburgh Penguins stay in 1st place"--Colin Campbell

As punishment for Jody Shelley's hit last night, the NHL has decided to suspend Darrol Powe for 5 games. When pressed for comment, Colin Campbell would only offer "Fair's fair".

This.

You think the NHL's about to do us a favor with a game for the NHL lead against Pittsburgh coming up next? They'd rather see us waste the roster spot.

i think he'll get two games. even if he just gets a fine though, i hope homer opens his eyes and lets him eat some hotdogs in the press box. if we had given the penguins a 5 minute major to work with... game.set.match.

Well, we could view that as a big loss (2 games without Shelley gracing our hockey watching). But you have to remember that we have 2 more years to enjoy him, so this isn't that big a loss. It is also just regular season games.

Ok so hopefully Zherdev goes to the top line, Carbomb to the 4th and we beat the Pens and Habs. If we lose those games Lavi might think it was all due to Shelley being out and he'll put him with Richie.

The way lavi has been running the team all year is that he sticks with a line up that's working. That being said, if the flyers do well in these two big games coming up, ill be very interested to see if shelley remains a scratch or not.

2 games is more than fair. It was unintentional, but still dangerous and friggen' stupid. Luckily McQuaid wasn't hurt, or I think it would have been more.

Come on Flyers - play your brains out so that Lavi has no choice but to continue to go with the hot hand.
