If Gorges needs treatment every single day, how about sitting him for a couple of games. Geez, this is not the playoffs or the end of the year. Some break so it will pay off later.

Although to be fair, JM has been known for trying wacky lines in practice as experiments, or just to send messages, something tells me we'll see other combos tomorrow.

Practice two days before a game. This has nothing to do with what the lines will look like come game time.

Habs inside/out suggested this, as Gomez is working one-on-one with the strength and conditioning coach. Even if that's the case, I don't see why Moen is still in the top-six, though it makes a little bit more sense.

Classic HF thread where people are way too obsessed with numbering lines and throwing out labels like "top 6". Martin rolls his lines quite a bit, so it's not like any of these guys are going to be seeing Jody Shelley minutes.

As long as the best players get the ice and PP time they deserve, it really doesn't matter where they are slated to play in practice. That is part of what's called "bench management", which is much more impactful on a team's results than the lines that a coach starts the game with.

Gomez not practicing.
Not surprised at all.

Pacs being centered by Pyatt makes sense. They both know each other from their days in Hamilton. So to PRACTICE together is a good way of breaking-in Pacs into the fold.

I wont critic JM lineup.

Pyatt is problably the odd man out and replacing Gomez.

AK would problably replace Moen. He's sending a message to AK that he is not satisfied with his work.

Cammalleri-Plekanec-AK
Pacioretty-Gomez-Gionta
Pouliot-Eller-Darche/Pyatt
Moen-Halpern-Lapierre
Pyatt/Darche

It's only ONE practice. Our next game is on Wednesday, JM will adjust his lines tomorrow and for the game they won't be like these ones.

God you people are ****ing quick to jump to conclusions. Gomez will likely be back on Wednesday so clearly Pyatt is only a placeholder on the line for practice. Use some common sense.

Yeah and everybody who thinks he's slow didn't see him play. He's not AS FAST as you'd like to see a small player. And his acceleration could be, of course, better. But he's not slow.

Besides, it's not like this team has anything against "slow" players....Look at the D and tell me how lightning fast they all are....And Halpern, Moen, Darche aren't the fastest either. And NOBODY talks about having DD as a regular on the 1st line either.....It's a guy coming from the AHL replacing another one. Of course, you'd expect they have some flaws, if not, they'd be in the NHL.....

The issue I have with Desharnais, is that he's obviously a player who is most dangerous when he has time and space, even watching the Bulldogs game last night you could tell that, at that level at least, with an extra split second, he's going to find the open man and make the right decision 9x's out of 10.

But in the NHL, where time and space will not be as readily available on as a consistent basis, his greatest strength (vision) gets nullified and he might actually become a liability.

While he's not a terrible skater, he obviously lacks that gear that helps smaller players in the NHL get that extra split second they need to succeed (see St.Louis, Sullivan, Kane)...

I'd love to be wrong though...he's a wonderful offensive talent...

I think Pyatt is just filler for Gomez. What concerns me is Moen is still in our top 6. I know it's practice but come on...

I don't think the team liked Andrei game against Detroit and I thought he looked like he was coasting/floating also.

Not to mention the wide open net he missed and a minute later it was 3-1 instead of 2-2.

As for Pyatt he won't be on the second line on Wednesday.
