Can't remember if it was against Detroit or Toronto but in one of the games this weekend he had a chance to score but got outmuscled in the crease. That's something I've noticed he's not the strongest guy and gets outmuscled fairly easily in traffic areas. Especially for a "grinder" bottom 6 guy.

From MA Godin:

"The end for Dustin the wind? I heard last time he was waived, Boyd received interest from a Western team that balked @ waive claim price tag"

Given he wasn't in the line-up against Toronto, I'd guess Detroit

The fact that you cannot remember cannot be a positive for his play, though, hehe.

That's one hell of a cheap team.

Indeed.

He had the same type of play in a game vs Ottawa earlier on this year too. If I recall correctly that was the game before he got benched the first time and he was on the ice for at least 2 of Ottawa's goals that night.

If the Panthers are too cheap for the waiver claim then why not just do Boyd + Mtl 7th for Florida 7th!

Either way i think its time to get him off the Habs. Either he gets claimed or sent down to the AHL. I think we need to give DD a bit of a look at the NHL level. Pyatt, IMO, doesn't do enough to warrant staying in the lineup on a nightly basis.

I thought this kid could of had a nice spot in MTL. It's too bad he couldn't grab the oppurtunity. I thought he had the tools to be an effective 3rd line center. I guess we have Pyatt for that (love the kids PK and D, but damn those hands of stone really crush my spirits when watching him some nights)

Yeah it's too bad Pyatt doesn't have Boyd's offensive skills they'd make a pretty decent 3rd line guy if you morphed them together.

I thought Boyd would be much better when we signed him this summer to be quite honest.

He actually played well. No idea what Jacques and Pierre are doing right now.

We will continue to struggle up front if Pyatt and Darche are consistently in the lineup.

I don't think his play in Detroit had anything to do with him being waived. Boyd obviously isn't in Martin's plans so instead of letting him rot in the pressbox, Gauthier put him on waivers with hopes (for Boyd's sake) that someone picks him up.

Man that sucks, I kinda liked Boyd when he was in CGY. I mean he was getting +/- 30pts playing with McGrattan.. I hope he gets claimed and find his niche somewhere.

He's mediocre positionally and with defensive assignments, something a coach like JM I presume does not tolerate for a player who's offensive contribution would only be marginal.

Unless Boyd scores a hattrick per game, I don't think he'll ever be a constant in the lineup. Hopefully he gets picked up he gets a chance to play and can earn himself a contract for next season.

This. Boyd is simply a redundant player on this team, and the fact that nobody picked him up last time around, not even the most injury plagued or offensively deprived of teams, shows that he'd be redundant pretty much everywhere. It's too bad because if he could learn how to play defensively like Pyatt, it would probably be Pyatt in this position. Such is life.

Boyd was even against Detroit . Not sure what game you were watching . Eller was on for two goals . And Pyatt sucked

Good point.

DD has nothing more to prove at AHL level. If Max Pac is recalled for good, why not DD even if it is to be the 13th forward most of the time. If MaxPac got success at AHL level this year, it's in good part thanks to Desharnais.

Only in Montreal can we blame the lack of offensive production on a duo of 4th liner...

I'd rather have O'Byrne than Boyd.
