No, numbered ping pong balls. Seriously, all it may mean is that Gomez is getting one additional day of rest.

What will Pyatt's role be, to stay back at the opponents' blue line in case the Habs turn over the puck? Are the Habs expected to score...ever?

First of all, I'm tired of seeing Paccioretty and Pouliot on the same line. They are both LW!!!!

As for the practice lines... that's all they are, practice lines!

As many posters have already said, Pyatt is likely keeping Gomez's spot open while he treats his groin injury. AK is probably being sent a quick message, but will be up on Plekanec's line come game day.

Martin has a few days to get the actual line up together, so lets try to not jump off a bridge for now. Remember there was even a day when everyone thought he was benching Spacek? That didn't happen either.

What's in a name? You could call them all fourth lines. It's not illegal for forwards on lower-numbered lines to score, and I'll be the Habs will notch a few goals.

I think now it's more difficult because Spacek got injured, but we had Weber-Picard-Subban alternating the 7th spot for a while. Gorges could have been given a game or two off.
It reminds me a little of the beginning of last season when Gill played through an injury until he looked too crappy and then was sat out.

Unless we go into a very deep losing streak, I have a feeling the 8 teams we're now seeing in the top 8 will be the one going to the POs. Carolina is the only team I can see working its way up to the top 8 teams, at the cost of either TB-ATL, but I think we will struggle to make the PO this year (unless crazy injuries start happening again).

So we should be smart about how to treat certain players with minor injuries.
You don't think Atlanta and Tampa Bay are both stronger than Carolina? Both have already beaten the Habs.

The Habs roster is full of left wings. That's because there are few few RH shots on the team.

Terrible! Needs more ATM, less Moen and Pyatt

ATM
Patches-Halpern-Gionta
Pouliot-Eller-Darche
Moen-Pyatt-Lapierre

If Gomez can play, scratch Pyatt, Halpern to the 4th

Please why do you people read so much into it ?

He's probably just trying to figure out some stuff, that's definitely not a game-time lineup..

Fair enough. Then scratch Lappy (although I love Lapierre against the Flyers)

Really? You're gonna base yourself on a two game sample?

Where the opponent went 0-2 (vs Ottawa, Oct 16) and 1-3 (at Columbus, Nov 2) on the powerplay?

Tom Pyatt is one of the players in a ROTATION on the penalty kill.

LOL!!!

I was sitting here building up my anger about Pyatt centering our 2nd line and then I saw this picture and I really did burst out laughing. You made my day! haha

Personally, my lines would look like this:

Cammalleri-Plekanec-Kostitsyn
Pacioretty-Gomez-Gionta
Pouliot-Eller-Darche
Pyatt-Halpern-Moen
Lapierre

Anyone one of Darche, Pyatt and Lapierre can be inter changable when they need a swift wake up call...
