Overall that pairing hasnt been that good. I...personally...dont think Pronger has looked up to par like he was last season.

I think Lavy might see the same thing with the Pronger-Carle pairing, since it seems that the Timonen-Coburn pairing starts almost every game nowadays (if I remember correctly)
Pronger started slow, likely due to his knee but lately he has been amazing. The amount of subtle awesome D plays he makes is huge. The Horton goal sucked, however Carcillo is more to blame there

And lavy has been Starting Meszaros and O'D sometimes too

It's funny because My friends of Massey Hall pre-sale tix got cancelled or lost or deleted (I still don't know) and I only found out until after both shows sold out to the general public. Naturally I went ape **** and through my tirade, word spread to some old friends whom had relocated from Montreal to Philly. They called and offered me an extra ticket to the Tower Theatre show which incidentally, and the coolest part of this story, was where Jonathan Demme filmed "The Trunk Show" which hopefully will be released someday on dvd or blu-ray. I also watched "Before the Devil knows you're dead" that morning and Marisa Tomei's **** were exceptional but I digress...

I don't really buy too much into winning streaks because the way I look at it, they have to eventually come to an end.

Having said that, I'm quite confident that we can beat the Pens tonight because I believe our team is better. Especially with the injuries that they have right now. Only way I don't seeing us win is if Boucher plays one of his trademark garbage games BUT he is playing very well right now so let's hope he keeps it going. LET'S GO FLYERS!!!

Why is Boosh in net? Ugh... I know he's doing well but I think Bob should do it.

hello all, long time no talk (if you can't tell by my avatar)...I am beyond stoked for this game yet I won't be able to watch it...

If any of you want a good laugh, check out the GDT on the Penguins board...seems like the Tittsburgh fans have a skewed version of NHL reality in which Richards is "the biggest whiner in the league..."

Anyhow, I haven't had as much of a chance as I would like to comment on the boards, but I couldn't help but share the absolutely hilarious commentary being written by Pens fans and figured if anyone was having a bad day and needed a smile, there is definitely one to be found there.

So glad I have a final at 6. Pitt's campus is always interesting on Flyers/Pens gamedays, already spotted 3 Carters, 2 Richies, a Bob, about a dozen Crosbys and Malkins, and, no ****ing lie, there's someone in the library wearing a Pens Ruutu jersey.

Laviolette rides his goalies till the wheels fall off. He's always gone with the hot hand, and if he plays well I wouldn't be shocked to see Boucher get the start in Montreal.

Will be an interesting to see how he plays. Boucher's last win against the Pens was in 2002.

Do you honestly believe that? Pronger flapped on a puck and dropped it right onto the stick of Horton. I love Pronger and he had a great game, but he really messed that play up.

He has been good offensively, but his choices with the puck have been horrid. He is usually handcuffing Pronger with bad passes point to point, or just making bad plays in general
Carle is the best passer on the blue line, BY FAR. His keep-ins are excellent and he has to cover 3/4 of the ice with Pronger's lack of speed. He has the same point production as Timonen for 1/2 the Cap hit. Has excellent PK stats. He has been far from brutal.

True about Pronger, but it was a pass Carcillo never should have attempted

Pronger ****ed up big time, but all Caricllo had to do was get that puck out of the zone

you are delusional on everything except keep ins. I find Carle's pinches have always been one of his best attributes.

His passing is good, but its not better than Pronger or Timonen. Remember that tape to tape pass he gave a bruin last game? he was very lucky that wasnt in the back of the net.
He isn't as fast as his defenders like to hail him, he is probably slower than everyone except Pronger and O'D. I dont care what his PK stats say he is brutal on the Pk as he is weak on the boards and sucks at clearing the zone. One of the best things about having O'D and Mez around is that Carle doesnt play near as much PK as last year. Outside of the offensive zone Carle is pretty much useless (he blocks some shots though)

Word from the Pens' board is that Malkin's good to go for tonight.

Kunitz is still a game-time decision.

Here's where I go with it: beat them at home. As in don't let them. What is it 6 in a row? They enjoy playing here. Make them not enjoy it.

The problem with Carle is consistency. He can make some amazing defensive plays. I have seen him make unbelievable diving poke checks, breaking up 3 on 1's, intercepting passes.

He just has the other side to his game where he enjoys throwing cross ice passes in his own zone, passing the puck the wrong way up the boards, passing into traffic, and giving up horrific turnovers.

You get the bad with the good though i guess, because if you didn't he would be paid 6 million

yeah that is pretty spot on. Ill admit he was very good at the start of the year, but lately he has dropped off a lot(besides points, I prefer good defense to points)

**** his plus minus. No one is hating on Carle. Just tired from his brain farts and want Carle to play better than he does now.
