I didn't see the highlights, but I didn't mind the pictures. I end up going to alot of NYI games since I live in NYC. And all of their ice girls are fake tanner lathered blondes...so it was nice to see that the Oil had a few real girls at least.
Cheerleaders are IMO more of a football thing. Looks kind of corny with hockey. I saw one of the Oilers cheerleaders (see link below) being interviewed on Sportsnet last night and she was pretty hot.
First thing I noticed... ok fine, the second thing I noticed is that the cheerleading squad doesn't believe in employment equity lol! Pasty looking squad.
Edit: What a bizarre mix. A few jailbait 18 year olds, a few heffers, a handful of decent looking women, and this guy that snuck in.
lmao, i was going to comment on that chick looking like a dude... as for jailbait... you need to look up the definition... once someone is 18 they are no longer jailbait

a couple of em are kinda bigger, but you gotta give em credit for not going, exclusively, with the same ol' barbie dolls. Bigger gals deserve a chance, too. She's pretty and chubby, nothing wrong with that. I give her credit.
These cheerleaders got nothing on Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders
fact is, not alot of Canadian babes go into cheerleading. Whereas in the states, and especially Texas, cheerleading is THE highest status job a hottie can get. I venture to say there isn't a single Texas babe who doesn't want to be a cheerleader.
Oilers fan coming in peace. Pretty funny thread. Agreed on lots of the girls. Definitely not barbies, more along the lines of what one sees at the bar on any given night.
The question is: "How long until other Canadian teams start a cheer team?" You just know Vancouver will likley do it.
BTW, I'm not a fan of it at all. Seems cheap and taudry, but whatever. Maybe they can raise money for the Oilers Community Foundation or something.

What's make you think Vancouver will bring in cheerleaders? I'm hoping Katz brought in the cheerleaders to give the fans some form of entertainment while you guys are in a rebuild. I hope they go away when/if your team contends for the playoffs regularly.

Just a feeling. I could see it being a good revenue generator for the team and it's projects in the community in a large market like Vancouver. As for them going away, I guess we'll wait and see. It'll be a year or so before we're contending for playoffs, but I doubt they are going anywhere unless there is great protest, which there doesn't seem to be so far.
Although I agree that it's very American style sports thinking, I wouldn't be surprised to see the other Canadian teams do the same in the future.
You have to admit that the Chicago girls are smokin'.
As for the entertainment during our re-build, I can honestly say that this year is a year that we are actually enjoying watching the team. I doubt we win very many, but it is fun to watch the talent level on these kids so far, especially knowing another top pick is very likely and that talent level hopefully improves.
