This is live or die time for Carle if Pronger misses games. He needs to step his game up big time
Carle has been playing very well. He is solid on D, moves the puck, joins the rush, has created several goals recently with great passes or pinches.

Why does he specifically have to 'step up' when he's been one of our best, most versatile players all year?

Tim P says there's a conference call scheduled later today regarding Pronger if an update is assured.

...he's terrible defensively. He's done a good job offensively this year, however.

That being said, he needs to be a lot better on the PP.

Because he needs to prove he can play without Pronger.

And he is not solid on D

I moreso fear Coburn-Carle.

Coburn could probably play fine with OD

He proved he could play with Coburn as his partner just fine two years ago, and at times this year.

As far as his D, that's your opinion, not shared by the coaching staff clearly, because they chose him and Pronger to shut down the Crosby/Malkin line....

Are you serious, that pairing was ridiculous? In fairness to Carle, however, Coburn struggles even more when he has the safety blanket taken away.

They chose Pronger to shutdown Crosby.

I'm not worried about Pronger over the long term. He'll probably just have to soak his ankle in the river Styx or in the blood of his enemies for awhile, or gnaw it off and grow a new one. Short term, it's not a bad time to test Bartulis. I like mm6492's idea of keeping the Meszaros - O'Donnell pairing and moving them up into the second slot. Keep the chemistry and give Carle - Bart a try with 3rd pairing minutes.

The Christmas break will help Pronger out.

Good, we could use a veteran presence.

I'm glad I could be a bit player in the brilliance of your GDTs.*

Bill meltzer is claiming that pronger injured his foot, and not the knee he had surgery on.

Results on Friday?

Probably high ankle sprain. What Crosby had a few years ago.

High ankle sprain is the worst. It actually lasts longer than a flat out broken ankle

If it was broken or cracked we would know today from x-rays. Probably?

Was it because of Plekanec? During the play in front of our net when Pronger went down? Was that it?
