Are Pyatt and Jillson available?

What would you guys want from Ottawa for Pyatt and Jillson? What do you think they are worth?

What about Drury and Biron?

From Ottawa?

In any deal with Ottawa I'd be looking to get Volchenkov in return and then go from there.

Volchenkov, phillips, but especially havlat. i have thought about a havlat proposal for a while now, something like:

to Ott: Miller, Drury, Pyatt, 1st/2nd round

to Buf: Havlat, Volchenkov.

Still not sure the Sens would bite tho

I'm sure... that they wouldn't.

Though Pyatt gives them a big LWer (which last I checked they could use), Drury an established center (ditto), and Miller a potentially great goalie... they already have a pretty good goaltending prospect and if they were to upgrade that position it'd be for someone established. Havlat is far and away the best player in the deal and I sure wouldn't do it if I was Ottawa.

EDIT: It isn't a bad proposal at all though... it addresses Ottawa's needs as well as Buffalo's (with Volchenkov anyhow). That said, Ottawa wouldn't move Havlatt unless it was for something amazing.

I would definitely not do it.A top notch goalie prospect,a 1st rounder in a extremely strong draft, along with a young potential powerforward and maybe the most clutch playoff performer in the league for a #2 def prospect and a talented yet very greedy player.

As a Sabres fan I wouldn't want this trade.

Dumping two hard work North American players plus Miller and ahigh draft pick for two softer Europeans. Who's going to open up lanes for these guys? Who's gonna set them up?

I'd want Chara and White for Pyatt and Drury.

i dont see nationality playing a role of any kind

i'd go straight after redden, who i think is their best player
but i dont see anything that ottawa would want in return
in fact, i dont see much need for ottawa to make any deals at all
their roster seems to have no glaring needs

I am confused when did Pyatt become a potential powerforward? He may be big but his game isn't physical or aggressive to be a power forward. If anything he is a Daze type player. Huge but not physical.

Well they COULD use a natural LWer but they aren't going to give up much to get it in my mind because their core is so good. They will probably fill those needs through free agency.

I'm puzzled why Ottawa would want Pyatt and Jillson. I guess they could use a LW, but I can't ever see Pyatt higher on their depth-chart than Peter Schaefer, and that's really where they could use a LW. I don't see Jillson as being an upgrade from anyone at all on their defense -- maybe if this was a salary cap move?

That being said, I'd trade them both for Antoine Vermette. He could be a star if he gets the ice time.

The last time i looked, we could be doing with a highly skilled winger. we have Miro and Vanek in the pipeline and thats it. Havlat is a guy that could easily move from Ottawa, since he is 3rd in the RW pecking order there.

Like you say, i doubt they would take it though. cheers for the comments too

Chara is not moving from Ottawa and White sucks

I like Vermette, but we have enough undersized, somewhat underskilled centres already. We are also overpaying in that deal.

Vermette is 6' 184lb, which I don't see as undersized (admittedly not huge), and I don't really agree that he's underskilled.

However, I don't really care enough to argue the point. I'm happy either way. Pyatt may eventually pan out for the Sabres, and I'm sure Vermette will pan out for the Senators.

i would take anything for pyatt and jillson....i think pyatt is a bust. he plays like a sissy schoolgirl, not like a power-forward; anything we could get for him would be good. jillson has potential but if he were involved in a trade for volchenkov or havlat i would definately let him go.....i don't see ottawa needing anything but a goalie.....emery is definately no good, hasek to retire again???? But the 2.5 or 3 million $$$ that havlat is getting to be the 3rd rw might make him expendable, but isn't alfredsson close to being a free-agent?

Ah, no need for that now. Unrealistic trade proposals are a hockey BBS staple. They generally have no chance of ever happening unless Bob Clarke is involved.

Pyatt would be available but I'm not sure Jillson would be. From what I've read here he had a horriible start to the AHL season but recovered later on and stood up. I think the Sabres will want to see what he can do in the NHL before they move him, but if the right deal came along, who knows.

I think a deal for Phillips would be ideal for Buffalo, but Ottawa is starting to get the value out of the former #1 pick they always hoped they get, so I can't see him moving in a hurry.

Realistically I think the only move Ottawa will make is Havlat to left wing. Phillips is better than Jillson right now so they'd only be downgrading their defense.
