Apparently practise this morning was:
Meszaros-Carle
Timonen-Odonnell
Coburn-Bartulis

Take the horse out of the stable.....the stable doesn't look so impressive!

Is there a source on that, or are you being sarcastic. I think Hatch coming back would at least keep the PK stable. I'd imagine O'D and Meszaros will be relied upon heavily to fill Pronger's role.

No you guys got it all wrong, Timonen won't get used a ton and Carle and Coburn won't have to step up because Homer's got, like, a bunch of ATOs and Andrew Alberts trades to utilize. It's almost a good thing Pronger will be out.

I'd be ok with point pairings of Kimmo- Mesz and Carle - Richards.

While obviously losing your top D-man is a blow to any team, I gotta believe that if any team can handle it, its this one. We all know the D won't be the same without Pronger, but I think the team will be able to deal without him. If he's out four weeks I think there are like ten games or something over that stretch, certainly not the en of the world.

True. It's not as though the Flyers would be without PK Subban or something.

I'm honestly not overly worried. Yes it sucks we lost our top D man and arguably our best player for 4-6 weeks. But you can't say we don't have depth. We'll survive. Better now than in April.

They played well at the beginning of the season without him, I have confidence they can do the same again.

Welcome back, Oskars.

Leighton is back as well. something to consider as he has the potential to carry this team if needed. He did once before and can do it again. He will reclaim the job that was once his. Then when pornger comes back, look out.

This is precisely what I'm hoping for - it obviously stings in the short-term, but long-term it could end up being a blessing in disguise. Plus, Pronger will have more than enough time to build his endurance back up for what will hopefully be another meaningful late season run.

I wouldn't mind calling up Gustafson to be the 7th D and pair him with kimmo every now and then. They looked good together in the preseason.

Sweet mother of God, no. Leighton + No Pronger = disaster any way you want to look at it.

I didn't think he needed a sarcasm smilie for that one. Trust me - it was dripping in sarcasm.

The phantoms are reeking this year, so I would be curious to hear from others that are following them. But I agree, I thought one of Gustafsson or Marshall would make this team. It sounds like they are calling up Svyret, that can't say much for how the kids are looking.

does syvret have to go through waivers? if so i dotn take the chance he gets claimed on waivers. Every dollar will count and paying half his salary leaves that much less wiggle room. Ride with 6 guys until you need a 7th. Then call up someone else if needed. Give each guy a game or 2 as they usually play well at first, then call up the next contestant

My guess is if someone gets called up to be #7 it will be Syvret. They aren't going to call up a young kid just to sit on the bench.

This ****ing sucks. Special case also being that he misses his return to Anaheim, though admittedly minor.

On the bright side however, this also has him rest his knee a bit.

As for the D, I'd say Meszaros takes Pronger's spot next to Carle and put Bartulis with O'Donnell. However, the first pairing will be Coburn and Kimmo and they will have the most ice time.

Agreed! And it's been a hella long time since I was 15. I may, however, have shoes that old...
