I think the "we need to save room" statement is a little overblown at times....We do have room...I still doubt management spends it. But a $6-7M contract isn't going to put this team into financial and cap ruin.

Do I think the should go out and acquire a guy for 6-7M? Not on UFA....Wait for a trade.
No way Anderson gets anywhere close at all to $5 mill. He would be lucky to get to $3. Neimi just got awarded $2.75.... And can not find a suitor on the open market... Goalies just do not make that much. The market is oversaturated. When a team plays a goalie 70 games a year, and there is only a need for 30 goalies in the entire NHL, the owners and teams have the upperhand on salary. If one guy refuses to play for less, than there are several others ready to jump in.

Ha, maybe if he could actually shoot and was a much better skater...

Quincey will have an season-ending surgery, and Mueller is questionable for this season. I just wonder is Avs below salary cap minimum now?

LTIR doesn't remove the salaries for the team. It just allows you to spend the same amount over the cap. So Muellers and Quinceys salaries count just as if they were healthy.
