Correction... 373 behind the great Kovalchuk... and he hasn't destroyed his team.

EDIT: And he is in front of Vinny and Tavares.

... and what I don't understand is that he most likely was getting a lot of Flyers fans votes... yet he is more than 6,000 votes ahead of Ville Leino.

Who the **** would vote for Shelley though. While we're at it can we vote for Matt Walker and a 4th?

The sad thing is that Shelley would probably be leading Kovalchuk if he could just remember how to spell his own name.

Seriously, the ASG lost its charm for me a long time ago. I couldn't care less who gets voted on.

How do they determine ASG coaches, 1st and 2nd place coaches?

So if Laviolette is coaching in the ASG and his team is sucking, will he just destroy a Diet Coke machine?

I beginning to believe that the ASG is now, and probably always was, for the kids... except of course for the honor to those participating. Also, I suppose the players must love socializing with each other in a non-combative situation.

That said, I must say that the even does hold charm and excitement for those who are able to actually attend -- I have attended a couple in the NHL and MLB -- the Skills Competition is especially fun in person... as is watching all the schmoozing in the pregame/pre-competition skate/warm-ups.

On the BoobTube though... it is a snooze-fest for those few souls who actually tuning in.

IIRC I read that Lavy was indeed a coach... being the winning coach of a Conference.

With there being no meaningful thing about conferences this time, I suppose there is little meaning with the coaches and they just go to a bench... any bench.

Do you think the players voted in captains will then get to choose the coaches? And just when does the selection of teams take place... will they get any practice in as a team at all? What a freaking joke... I'm surprised the players all love the concept.
