No dicking around tonight. Bury them early and take away their will to want to play. Follow that and they should win.

Richards better watch himself

Leighton is backing up, he was second off the ice. Bob is starting. Poor Boosh.

I'd rather sit in the warm press box than on the cold bench in full gear all game.

Imo, being the 3rd goalie is a christmas present for Boosh's recent awesomeness.

I don't think poor Boosh. I think they're going to rotate amongst the three. By simple rules, only 2 can be present. Each goalie is going to have to take turns sitting out.

Not sure what they'll do for road trips, though.

Great job MSE!

Florida always seems to play the Flyers really tough -- come on Flyers, head into the break on a hell of a high note!

LET'S GO FLYERS!!

That's just so freakin' wrong. Okay Bob, extra pressure on you -- the last thing we want to see tonight is Michael Bleeping Leighton in net.

Well I would rather have Bob start than Leighton, but it would've been nice to have Boosh as the back-up. Wish I could watch this one. I guess I should take my psych exam instead of watch the Flyers this time.

We always seem to have trouble against this team for w/e reason(s). This year looks like it might be different in that regard though.

What an astounding difference in records. The Panthers are 26th in GF and 6th in GA. Which, looking at their relatively talentless forward squad, mediocre blue-line, and great goalie isn't surprising really. Crash the net and use our forward scoring depth to overwhelm them and it shouldn't be hard to score two or three goals. I doubt the Panthers can manage three goals as long as our goalie doesn't let in any softies.

I cannot stand Leighton.

I hope he sucks when and if he gets on the ice.

seems like a lot of hate for a guy that helped you get to the finals last year. has he got a terrible personality or something?

Leighton as the backup makes perfect sense. Look you don't want Bob to get pulled and have a week to think about it. So what do you do? Make Leighton his back up, nobody in their right mind wants to see him in net, Lavy is just removing temptation that's all.

The team got to the finals despite the anchors in goal, not because of them. And the anchor named "Leighton" ended up letting in the crappiest winning goal probably ever given up by a goalie in the OT of the Stanley Cup finals.

I thought he played better than what was expected at the start of the playoffs. Didn't he do decent in the first three rounds?

He didn't play in the first round and a half, and was hardly even tested against Montreal thanks to very good defensive play from everyone.

edit: If he had faced Pittsburgh, or Washington, I doubt Philly would've made it to the finals.

I really don't understand how Boosh isn't backup for this game. He's played great of late.

thanks for the correction. my bad then, but he's a waiver pickup for you and was put in the number one spot by default almost. If he was a No. 1 he wouldn't have been put on waivers to begin with. Maybe he'll be a no. 1 someday, but he wasn't last year. I'm guessing the guy probably gave a good effort as well and didn't underperform relative to his norm. So, while he's no Bob IMO, given the circumstances last year he did alright for you guys.
