Saw this article a while ago and meant to post something on it:

Bracko's instruction allegedly runs counter to what Hockey Canada preaches. He also says that Taylor Hall and Andrew Cogliano (two of the faster skaters in the league) skate the way he teaches kids to.

Just wondering what you guys think. I can't skate worth a lick, but would like to get adult lessons soon and my nephew also plays hockey, so this info might be useful to him.

He's right on. I officiated at every level of the game. I was very small in size, but my skating was what got me recognized and enabled me to advance up the ladder. Wide stance, bend knees and bend at the waist, for better balance. Push skates off to the side, not front to back, and swing arms arms out to the side for speed, not front to back.
