Just to be clear, the tweet from the beat writer was that Gabby was sitting out practice today because of a sore groin right? All of this talk about him missing the next game is speculation based on that and now the MZA call-up? There is no concrete word about Gaborik missing a game(s).
Either way, it's going to be nice to see the hobbit getting a shot. I'd prefer if it happened with Gaborik in the lineup as well though.
mza has a huge opportunity to show what he can do. if he does well, he should get an extended stay. guys like white and ec should be concerned.
im a little concerned about what i read about his skating issues. ill be curious to see how he looks out there and if he can keep up. my biggest concern with him was always his size and his ability to be an impact offensive player in the nhl.
his offensive skill should help our top 9. i would like to see him on the pp with gaby as well. his passing skills are top notch and that will make us better.
im pretty sure gaby will play. a sore groin isnt anything to worry about at this point.
Avery/Prospal(if he can play)-Boyle-Prust
Stepan should never play on the wing. i don't even know why Torts tried that out.
centers should be Anisimov, Stepan, Boyle and Drury. not necessarily in that order but yeah. that first line looks pretty sweet to me, not gonna lie. gotta get some size next to Zucc since he's so tiny. also need someone with a good shot to finish his passes.
MZA wont be starting on the first.. he'll gradually make it there by the 2nd if he plays good enough through the 1st
that first line doesn't necessarily have to be the first line. the line of Dubinsky-Anisimov-MZA as a whole seems pretty promising. he'll definitely be moved around the entire game, though...we know Torts well enough by now.
