MZA: "Best night of my life"

I hope people caught that in the postgame. The way he said it really made me feel happy for the guy, and I already was very happy to have him around.

he'll be sent down, but to no fault of his own. he's taking marian gaborik's spot in the lineup. while gaborik isn't too hot right now, can we really expect MZA to play that well night in, night out? he would need to too take gabs spot. and i don't see where else he would fit in right development-wise in the lineup.

Glad he enjoyed himself, glad he played well, and most importantly, glad he was sent back so that he can continue to build his confidence and grow into an NHL player.

I dont see how you send him down. He certainly showed tonight that he can play at the NHL level. He is the third best playmaking forward on the team already.

Zuccarello. Stepan. Gaborik
Dubinsky. Anisimov. Callahan
Frolov. Boyle. Prust
Fedotenko. Drury. Christensen/Avery

Someone who shows as much impact skill as Zuccarello displayed tonight, needs to be in the lineup.

maybe he'll be back up right after the game on the 26th

edit: this was predetermined. in fact, they probably told him when he got called up that he's playing for the whale the 26th... didn't matter if he scored six goals he was going back down and they'd take it from there as far as a call up for the next nyr game

zuc looked VERY good out there, WAAAAAY better than he did in the preseason. hes come a long way, id keep him up personally. When Gabby comes back something like...

Dubi - Stepan - Zuc
Drury - AA - Gabby
Fed - Boyle - Prust
Avery - EC - Frolov

4 pretty good lines.

That's great. His time in the A has really been good for him. Hopefully we'll see Zucc again soon.

No doubt about it! I was very impressed, he didn't look like he was playing his first game.
That said, I have no problem with him going back down now if it means Sather and Torts realize they can now officially rid themselves of Todd White.

I Just got back from the game... I couldnt believe my eyes when i saw that shootout goal... It was like seeing a mini Nylander out there. Very glad i got to see his first nhl game.

edit: not to mention as small as he is, how visable he was on the ice. He was really doing some great stuff out there.

I can't imagine after this game that Zuccarello won't play Monday's game. He played a lot, and Torts even started him in the overtime.

I find it quite interesting that Torts said that there weren't any guys in Hartford ready for the NHL, and yet, he played Zuccarello almost 18 minutes this game.

I wonder if they brought him up specifically to get a good look at the Mighty Might in action. See what little size has to do with making it at in the NHL if you have the skill. I know we needed a body, but there were other options...

I thought he was good, he reminded me of St Louis. Hadnt made that connection before tonight...

I think he'll be back

He said "we didn't get the 3 points, that's my only disappointment".

That's SEL talk right there. Send him down, he needs to do some adjustin'.
