Oh, that is not good. At least it wasn't the knee ligaments... but still.

I think Gaustad, Connelly, and Gerbe
One teams trash is not another teams treasure, meaning we have to give up something good. Probably a first or second round pick plus either two prospects or a top two liner on this team.

Womp.

That's all folks. What's worse is, we can't even devolve into a scrappy, hard hitting team that's at least hard to play against with the roster the way it is and Ruff behind the bench.

Well, if this isn't the nail in the coffin, I don't know what is.
Don't rush yourself Derek, just be ready to play next season.

I hope this doesn't become an excuse for the FO and it better not mean that Connolly now becomes untradable, or worse, is re-signed.
Just get rid of anything we can, please.
We have a shot at landing something good.

Anyone want to guess when we'll score a goal next?

Trade up to what a possible 8th seed playoff appearance with a 1st round exit? I'd much rather have a higher draft pick.

Well it's going to be used as an excuse for the next year. Let the record show that the team already sucked. And had sucked from the start of the season.

Well that blows.

Regardless of how the Sabres do while he's away, all the best to Roy, hoping he makes as swift a recovery as possible.

I suddenly feel content with not seeing a Sabres game in person in 4 years now.

So give up in December? If the team goes on a 4 game winning streak they're probably 2-4 points out of a playoff spot. Why not try to make a trade? Give a player and a 2nd or a 3rd and 4th. Keep your 1st round pick.

Wasn't the opportunity there when Tim got hurt too? Adam didn't look too good then.

Just heard this and I was really disappointed. I'm a big fan of Roy's talent. I really hope he has a full recovery for next year and on. Best of luck to him.

You guys are right....Adam has had his chance, and we can write him off as another Darcy failure.

What the hell would we get for a player and a 2nd/3rd/4th?
Any of our players with value wouldn't be given up and the others wouldn't fetch the player we need.

The best center that we have after Roy is hated by most fans, on pace for 40 points, and has to have his nose rebuilt.
The only player we have in the pipeline is a rookie and is already with us.
Why even attempt to fix it?

Maybe I'm a bad fan or something, but we have the opportunity to become more competitive and draft a blue chip prospect.
I'd rather sit through a bunch of ****** games and be more competitive in the future than attempt to make the playoffs this year.
We can't keep bandaging it over.

solution: sign and bring up Kassian and have him go on an angry rage destroying everyone and getting rid of our frustration....his first target...CROS*****!

He's a 20 year old rookie still getting used to the pro game.
Yes, he has a great opportunity but I'm not expecting a lot from him just yet.

Just get him minutes and experience, I don't really care about his point totals.

We already signed him months ago, but you can't just recall a junior player.
He can only play for us on an emergency basis, which would probably involve multiple wingers being hurt and then us exhausting all options (which is basically just Corey Tropp).

He can play for us or for the Pirates whenever Windsor's season is over, but I'm not sure if it'd burn a year of his contract.

It'd be cool to just play for fun the rest of the year. Let the little ones get some time.

Let's go Buffalo Pirates!

Ennis-Adam-Stafford
Vanek-Hecht-Mancari
McCormick-Gaustad-Kassian
Pominville-Niedermayer-Grier

**** Connolly, put him in front of an 18 wheeler.
