I liked what I saw in his first game.

Size isn't a problem, it's a big problem. He is darn small.

But he showed that he can get it done along the boards, and what I liked the most that was his play on the PP, how he could set up and run things. Or, scratch that, what I really like the most is that the kid look like he can improve a lot. His skating can get better for sure. He can grow a lot in terms of confidence. Like mature. That growing potential is something I always missed in a Dawes for example.

I'm a little disappointed with his speed. Not suggesting he's a bad skater, but the successful 'little guys' in the league usually had great acceleration. Theo, St. Louis, etc. MAZ looks a little stockier than those guys though. He needs to improve his burst.

He moves well with little space though. He avoided a couple of hits by doing little spins. He can shift side to side pretty well. He didn't put himself in a dangerous situation. He was smart along the boards.

Still don't think he's going to be great, but his skillset can certainly help this team over the next few years. 20/40/60 type of player, imo.

I think its quite possible that he will become a 20/40/60 pts player too, or like stats don't really say much. I mean, 20/40/60 in some environments is really good, and in others its pretty avg. But I get what you mean.

One thing though, I definitely think his skating can improve a lot. I think he looks a little quicker this season, and in terms of his stride et c, I don't think he have the same problems like say a Nigel Dawes who due to how he was built, never really could get that outstanding quickness like say a MSL.

I wanna see his acceleration/skating improve, and I think he can add some zip to his shot too.

I definitely still have hopes that this kid will become something special.

Ok, so I'm Norwegian, but that does not change the fact that those olympic jerseys we had there is one of the most beautiful looking jerseys ever. I actually read somewhere during the Olympics that the classic look they used was from their old jerseys - Which was inspired by the Rangers back in the days
