Obviously, we didn't have the best game, but at the end, we had our big players step up and score some goals, and Quick made some great saves to get two points, two very important points. I’d like to work on my shootout attempts, too. I’m happy with the way I played tonight, and that’s another step here. Christmas time is just starting and we’ve got a big part of the season (coming up), where we’ve got a lot of games in a lot of nights, and we’re going to have to be ready. So, a couple days off are going to be good for us to rejuvenate and refresh and get back at it."

Obviously they have a lot of firepower and skill, and when they put it together they are hard to play against. These points, right up to the All-Star game, are huge in here. After the All-Star game, everything tightens up and points are hard to come by. Right now we’re fortunate to play nine out of 11 at home, and these are going to be big games for us."

You come back after a long road trip, five games, and that next game at home is hard. Then you’re playing a team that you’re supposed to beat easily, and it was a grind. A lot of guys dug in in the third period. The last three, four shifts of the second period, it started, and carried through for the last 20 minutes. So it’s great to get the two points out of it. It was a hard one. Coaches win because you have good players with good character. That leadership group in there [the Kings' locker room], that has been put in place by Dean Lombardi and the management staff and scouts. They have assembled a great group of guys. That locker room is as close, as tight, as any team that I’ve ever been around. They really care about each other, work hard for each other, and it comes down to the players looking at each other in the eye and saying, `I’m going to play hard for you tonight.’ To me, that’s what has been taking place here, over the couple years that I’ve been here. When you have that kind of an attitude going into games, you’re going to get your share of wins. Hopefully you get a lot more wins than you do losses, and you just continue to build on it by drafting well and putting young guys in the lineup, and you become a real good organization and a real top team in the league."

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the DarkOrange bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

... Maybe to give Bernier, and especially the team, a chance to redeem themselves?
If Bernier wants to be the number one man someday, he's going to have to be ready to take on
any opponent out there, regardless of how strong they are.

5 games in 7 nights. Quick probably gets games 1,3, & 5 in this stretch and Bernier games 2 & 4.

Need to shake off the eggnog and get on the scoreboard early. Need to take control of the game and get off to a good start. A lot of games to play here, no time for goofing off.

Need to play all 4 lines:
Quote:
MURRAY: “I’m a little concerned about the physical grit and all that, but what overrides that, in my opinion, is that I need to roll the four lines more consistently, with the heavy schedule.”
Question: The fact that you have a guy like Clifford, who hasn’t been shy about getting involved in physical stuff, does that influence you as well?
MURRAY: “Absolutely it does. Cliffy and Simmer [Wayne Simmonds], both of those guys can play a pretty heavy game, gritty game. And that does enter into the decision as well, as well as the overriding factor, which is the scheduling and the importance of having four line playing pretty regularly.”
