Sportsclubstats finally made their Playoff chances page for the NHL this year. I don't know how long it's been up, but I checked early in December I believe and it wasn't updated. It is now though.

Anyway, Flyers and Penguins have a 99.8% chance of making the playoffs. The Canucks and Red wings are also both above 99%.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Devils chances of making the playoffs, as calculated by the site, are below 1 in 10,000. The percentage they're giving them is 0.008412%.

Also, 11 more losses and Brodeur is the losingest goaltender of all time

They were interviewing Bob Mckenzie on NHL Live and Stan Fischler said he thought Crosby was better then Gretz. Only took about 30 seconds for McKenzie to smack him down haha
Fischler is what 105 years old now?

Until we can be sure Crosby is better than Jagr or Forsberg, it isn't worth it to even begin comparing him to guys like Lemieux and Gretzky.

I think he is better than Jagr or Forsberg. He might be as good as Mario (I do not think he is but Sid is so young). Anyway, statistically he will never catch Gretzky.

I disagree there. However, by the end of this season that's liable to change. At this pace, it's likely.

Why do you disagree? Since entering the league at the age of 18, Sid accomplished a lot.

Just going off numbers alone, since I don't like comparing pre and post lockout players who are so similar in skill/potential ceiling. They have different styles as well.

However, if I'm not mistaken, he's gonna have Jagr-like stats by the end of this season.

Statistically, Sid outplayed both Forsberg and Jagr in his 1st 6 seasons. Keep in mind that Peter did not enter the league at teh age of 18. Jagr did but he had Mario on his side. That 1991 Pittsburgh team was crazy good.

Good point. Apparently I just completely forgot what the stats comparison was, since I haven't looked at it in a long time. However, I still see no way you can compare him to Wayne and Mario.

I do not really compare Sid to Mario and especially Wayne.

For those that argued with me about Roloson and how he does not have it anymore and why it is such a bad idea to make a push for him at the dead line. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=346977
Dwayne's PCT would be around .935 playing behind Flyers team

Oh, I wasn't saying you do it. I meant just people in general.

Subban/Plekanec altercation

Luc Gelinas - Subban and Plekanec altercation during this morning's practice almost to the point of dropping the gloves..

Both players also had issues late November.

Sorry, no links.

Yeah that's like the 2nd or 3rd time they have had issues. Subban definitely seems like a cancer to me

Question is, what is the best course of action? If they're gonna keep getting at each other during practices would it be wise to just let them fight and get it over with? If so, does that do anything to change P.K.'s attitude? I'll be interested to see what happens between these two the next few months.

I stick by my dubbing of PK as PK Doucheban.

How many losses is Brodeur currently at?

Guess he'd have a shot at another record... the most losses a season for a goalie is held by Gary Smith (CGS) 1970-1971 - 48 losses... ouch!

17 losses so far this season. 11 more and he's with Worsley and Joseph for most career losses. He's also been pulled more times (6) than he has wins (5) after getting yanked yesterday against the Leafs.

If he wins the fight he might get worse. If he loses the fight I expect he doesn't change. A lengthy talking-too and some time in a lower league might do him good, if all this is true.

Has Brodeur been that bad, or is he really suffering from the team in front of him?

They've played 35 games. At about that same sample size, Leighton was pulled at around the same rate...except Leighton had more wins. You can look at that as either "Brodeur is as bad as Leighton," or "Leighton is a good as Brodeur!"
