I didn't think it was possible but I prefer the green ones. I am sure they will look better on the ice, but man, I don't think they understand what an alternate jersey is. If the green is the alternate, then the home and away shouldn't have the same exact characteristics (i.e. the wave crests at the bottom, etc.). All they did was change the color and the lining of the logo. The whale looks very dark as well.

If you take away the waves at the bottom I actually really like the jersey. Sans the logo.

Haha, agreed. I would be fine with a more classic jersey. I know they wanted to do their own Whale thing, but having WHALE like the WOLF PACK diagonally down the jersey to pay tribute to both them and the Rangers would have been nice and made for a slick jersey.

I actually like the waves. It would be kind of cool if the Whale was jumping out of it, maybe in to the C or through it, rather than just kind of sitting on it.

Wasn't it Mike Keenan a few years ago in St. Louis that refused his players to wear the alternate jersey then, cus they were just attrocious?

What a shame. The Pack jerseys were quite nice.

I like it for the most part. It's just that the logo is ridiculous and the waves are dumb. The green C doesn't match anything.

Ya those are my two complaints. It could be sharper without the waves and the big dumb logo.

Better than the green ones for sure, though.

also that huge "The Hartford" patch seems to be gone, or am I just remembering it being somewhere else? That makes it look a lot better, too.

It'll likely still be there. These are probably fresh out of the box. They go on sale tomorrow morning or something. I'm not even sure if they will have the players jerseys ready to wear tomorrow night.

Whale's Lee Baldwin has been assigned to ECHL Greenville, likely making room for NYR's Todd White about 1 hour ago via web

If Todd White plays like he should be able to in the AHL...wow.

Whale win 2-1 in overtime. Goals for Tessier and Kennedy. Neither White nor Jason Williams were suited up tonight. Fun game in front of a huge Wednesday crowd of 7913 (schools are on break). The Whale management projected the some-odd 5,000 walk up ticket sales to be the largest walk-up crowd in Hartford hockey history. The line was pretty ridiculous and people were getting into the game midway through the second period.

I should add Grachev had a few really good shifts towards the end of the game when it was tied up at 1. Used his body and made a physical presence on the ice in the offensive zone. Almost netted what could have been a game winner but it hit off the top crossbar after Enroth got a piece of it. Now it just needs to be more consistent.

That is good to hear.

After watching the insanely improbable year Boyle is having, Gratchev should be given every opportunity to succeed. If he can ever figure out how to get that shot of his off consistently, it'll be something to see.

You're exactly right. Not everyone finds it as early as others do.
