Sounds like a good interim 1st line centre for the Leafs!

Actually, 4th time's a charm. It's almost a guarantee he'll be sent down now, with Zuccarello likely staying up and Prospal returning soon.

Somebody should definitely take the hint and grab this guy. The hockey gods must have something in mind.

This thread really should be a sticky...

The other thing -- if they want him gone this badly, why not put him on re-entry waivers and be done with it?

He has to be sent down before he can be placed on re-entry. But once he's sent down, he won't be recalled. What would be the point?

It seems Slats is keeping him around as insurance until some other players return from injury. In the meantime, being waived every 30 days gives him a chance to catch on with another team. The closer we get to the trade deadline, the higher chance that some team will claim him as he has an expiring contract.

He'll probably be sent down before that happens though.

Hopefully this time, he gets sent to Hartford for good with the way Zucarello has played. White really has no buisness being in the NHL anymore, and I don't get why he's been floundering between being on the 4th line/healthy scratch all season when he has a cap hit of 2.3 mil.
