I'm not sure how his WHL team is doing, but you wouldn't think he's been back long enough to get some bad habits (I think he's only been back a few weeks). Hopefully he smartens up - he's too good a player to be pulling that stuff.

Schenn was a complete puckhog in every game I've seen him play with the WJC. I'm not sure what the heck is going on with him, but it's frustrating to watch - he's been taking low percentage shots rather than pass the puck to a wide open linemate consistently.
I have Schenn in a fantasy keeper league and I'm really hoping he turns into something decent given he was my 1st round pick that year.

He is on the Brandon Wheat Kings and used to be on the same line as Scott Glennie, but has only played 2 games for them this season.

Last season Schenn had 99 points in 59 games.

The Wheat Kings are 13-19-1-4 (W-L-OTL-SOL) this season.

He played with the Kings this season but wasn't overly impressive. Actually he didn't impress at all. Then again Juniors is a completely different game than the NHL.

I was dissapointed when I saw the crowd during highlights of the USA/Finland game. Appeared to be more red in the stands than USA colours,.I thought Americans, especially in that area, would be snatching up tickets to see the Americans defend Gold and be Gold Medal favourites again.

Really liked Canada's game, besides the sloppy first period but that's excusable I think. First game, against Russia, in an arena packed with fans cheering for you, it's expected. The Russians were literally scared to take a hit by the end of the game. Ducking or lying down whenever a Canadian came near them in the corner, couldn't believe it. Oh well, keep it up boys.

Just got back from the Slovakia/Germany game.

That kid Jurco is something else. Reminds me of Tarasenko.

I was also quite surprised at how few Americans were at the game. I wish I had time off to go to Buffalo for a few games, it would be a ton of fun.

Agree about the Russians but it's always been like that. Go back to when they played the Flyers and left the ice due to a hit and it seems they have that suckiness factor.

I thought Orlov looked good. Goalie was also pretty damn good. Thats about it.

Russians looked like poop against Canada. Maybe they can play better later? Maybe not. Losing this early in championship is a good lesson.

Landeskog may be out for the entire tournament now so thats a huge blow for Sweden and a huge plus for Russia tonight.

This is hte last game I will be in attendance for so it should be a dandy.

That's a huge blow to Sweden -- and Kitchener, if it turns out to be anything serious. Kitchener needs him to be the normal Landeskog.

Another shaky start for Canada vs the Czech's. Czech Republic scored about 45 seconds in, but Canada has gotten 2 PP goals to make it 2-1 Canada after 1. Shots ended up being 14-3 Canada or something along those lines.

Canada's PP is 5 for 7 in the tournament so far.

Canada should win this game pretty easily as they are dominating play. I'm not confident in Olivier Roy but if Canada adds a couple of more goals he shouldn't be an issue.

The Czech goal was uuuuuuuuuuugly.

Canada has been the beneficiary of a couple of weak calls, but at least they scored on them! Nice to see the PP working, because it was gross during the pre-tourney games and early in the first game.

Keep it rolling boys!

Anyone else feel like that kid got hosed in the Canada/Czech game for that hit? Looked clean to me.

I was just thinking the same -- I find myself cheering for the opposition to score, just to shut him up.

I understand homerism. But he's approaching Edwards' level of disgusting.

The one angle they showed looked like Kassian's shoulder made contact with the Czech kid's chin.

Not at all surprising from Kassian, but an incredibly stupid thing to do.

Wow. I really like Cody Eakin.

Not a great goal for the Czech goalie to allow, but a nice shot from Eakin.

They only called it cause the Czech player was injured. There was no call until way after the play ended. International officiating makes me appreciate most of the NHL officials. Almost!

I don't understand international officiating sometimes. No call on the Kassian hit, but because the guy was injured they give him a 5 and a game after the fact. Stupid.

His shoulder absolutely made contact with the kid's chin.

It seems like TSN is trying to talk it up differently so Kassian doesn't receive any supplementary discipline.

By IIHF rules for this tournament, the right call was made and Kassian should sit out at least one more game. It sucks for Canada, but it would be the right action.

Don't tell me all that time in Florida has made you a closet Panthers fan...

Maybe you're just one of the 11 Kingston Frontenac fans.
