That play when he tangled up with the d-man as he streaked into the offensive zone, pulled off, kept the puck and shot a rocket goes to show that he doesn't let his size act as too much of a detriment.
Seeing him live last night, I wanted to comment on one thing that stood out to me. The kid pays attention to detail. He got back for defenseman 2 or 3 times last night, and really shields the puck well, along with attempting to create plays. He didn't play as well as he did against Tampa, but I'd give him another shot with Gaborik (on the power-play) tomorrow. I thought they seemed to figure each other out in the offensive zone, particularly down low, since they dominated puck possession.

guess you should take to account that he only has had ONE practise with the team (the morning of the tampa game) He will get better when he learns more about how his teammates move and where they will be on the ice.
He is also best when he holds on to the puck and gives himself a little bit more time to set up plays. I bet this will come when he gets more familiar and confident within the team. atleast thats what happend in hartford and then the points startet to roll in. Im very exited on Zuccas behalf, and belive he still has more to bring.

(sorry for bad english)
As am I! I think this kid is going to be a phenomenal player and I am very excited for him to be on the Rangers.
I think the start in the AHL was just to get him adjusted to North American style of hockey and nothing more I have a feeling he is here to stay now.
Not that where players dress is a determining factor in their relationships, but the layout does aid the younger players in their adaptation to the NHL, sticking together as they have veterans nearby to provide guidance.
“Vinny’s been – almost from day one in camp, he’s been talking to me a lot, and he’s just a nice guy,” Zuccarello said. “Then you have Sauer, who I can talk to about Hartford and those things. He’s been there and knows how it is to get up here. You’ve got Step, too, it’s a good feeling – Step’s been taking care of me now, and it’s a good thing for him to do. He drove me to practice today, him and (Brian Boyle) are taking care of me. It’s a great group of guys, and you feel comfortable coming into the locker room. Everybody’s nice to you and it’s – like I said a hundred million times before, it’s just a great feeling to be here.”
After two NHL games, with a shootout goal in his debut and an assist last night, Zuccarello is starting to feel more like he looks – like someone who belongs here.
“These two first games, it’s been unbelievable,” the Norwegian winger said. “I’ve been playing a lot, playing every situation, so you get more and more comfortable, but it’s a long way to go to get real comfortable. I’m still a rookie, I’ve only played two games. … It’s a little different setup (from the AHL), forechecking a little bit more and how we forecheck and stuff like that. First game, I was thinking about ‘where do I go now?’ Hopefully that just sticks in your mind and you just go like that every time and get comfortable.”
"I used to pray for good things . I used to ask the Hockey Gods for puck luck for the NYR .
Now all I want is Torts the smug stupid goatee clown to be fired , . I hate Torts . Please hockey gods make him get fired. Please Sean punch him in face" -- Dorado
