The key addition Pax brought to that line was actually speed not size. Speed and hockey sense. The three of them can dominate possession via speed, giving them a cycling game.

Pax being big helps, but Moen was big too. Size is a plus, but it's overrated, and lack of size gets blamed entirely too much.

It's not all about luck, but the Habs are better at the stuff a team can control than they've been in a decade.

They've been awful in previous year and have scraped whatever success they could via
a healthy dose of luck. This year's playoffs come to mind. I guess this streak is karma for that.

You need to play Patches with some "real" talent to boost his confidence and bring the best out of him. Playing him with a bunch of lugs will bring more disappointment. For whatever reason the rookies are not panning out here in Montreal.

I'm saying we need size with skill.

That's why the skilled and bigger players like Eller need to be played away from the Moen's, and it is obvious we need more of that to give us three lines. We have two and neither are contributing in the same game.

I disagree. The key addition Pacioretty brought was size. Sure Moen is also big, but comparing them is completely unfair. Skill wise, Pacioretty is far superior to Moen and is able to use his size in ways Moen can't.

Yea whats with that? Every single time we're in a good position, the puck never hits the net.

Rarely did we force the opposing goalie to make a tough save. The worse part about it is that we lose control of the puck afterwards or the puck goes around the boards and out of the zone.

So we just went from in control to trying to retrieve the puck and possible defending ourselves from a scoring chance in our zone.

Or perhaps on the only players that were crazy enough to sign.

At this point you could put any of Gionta, Gomez, and Cam in that area. Not all making 6 mill but they are supposed to bring the offense. To small and too old. Where are all the people that were praising Gainey at the beginning of the year? Crawled back in your hole eh?

Because you didn't crawl back into your hole when the year started and Price was excellent?

I'd say once you have size, you can't blame it on size anymore, so it would be nice to have size.

Only 2 games left on this trip.
Only 2 games left in December.
One can only hope for better days.

Cams is a good player, hes had great seasons in LA and CGY. Not to mention money in the playoffs. Either rough patch here or being bogged down. I do agree with u that we need some grit but i think JM rather have good skaters a la Pyatt

They should be able to get at least one win off of the Panthers. Tampa is very good (in part thanks to Boucher, who IMO the Habs should've kept) but the Panthers are bad. In theory they should be about 50-50 to beat Tampa as well, especially if TB has a bad goalie day.

Of course, if they don't get bounces then they ain't gonna beat nobody, but there's still half a season to play and one of these days the Habs are gonna win a game they really didn't deserve, too.

Is it crazy for a player to accept 6-7 million a year? I don't get what you are suggesting.

not that there was ever any doubt, but to the dude who posted in the closed thread about subban being traded. i emailed marinaro tonight to ask about anything of the sort - or if he had heard anything and his response was two words:

no chance

lol

This line-up should be competitive, depending on the games everybody will have a couple of good shifts, only the d-squad can't play a tight game, while they were the best d-squad in the league at the begining of the season. If our top-9 can start burying their chances and the arrival of Wiz gives martin space to retool his defence pairing, everything should be back to normal, this is a good line up but a bad stretch.

The Pens and the Caps had it wrost than us eralier in the season and now they are back on track, we should do the same no worry.

The difference between Caps/Pens and us is that while both of those teams had their losing stretches, their winning streaks far exceed what our team is capable of. You really think we can win 12 games in a row like the Pens or go one month with just one regulation loss like the Caps? That's what enabled those teams to rise atop of the standings, even with their horrid stretches of play a times. We can't do that to the same extent, so this comparison is way off.
