Is he related to Scott Bjugstad who played for the Kings?

I've been concentrating on my daughter who is a senior in HS and blew out her ACL just before HS soccer season. Her rehab is on track so that she can probably play a full HS lacrosse season. She is being recruited by several high end schools.

The Kings stuff is interesting, but the schools in question cost as much as an entry level NHL contract, so that's been my priority - not that I'm cheap or can't afford it, but if someone else is willing to pick up the tab ....

He was a promising player until he had major knee injuries. Had 43 goals for the North Stars one year.

Good for you. I hope she gets better and dominates soccer net year.

I remember him but there is little reason too. It's like remembering Jason Morgan, Freddy Chabot, Chris Kontos, Wayne McBean, or Tomas Vlasak. Why even bother ?

I've seen WAAAAY too many great starts. I agree that it looks good now, but let's wait until they actually win something before we plan the parade route...

We could never forget Fivehole Freddie Chabot, or legends such as Mikko Makela, Kyosti Karjalainen, Peter Ahola, Bob Halkidis, Jeff Chycrun, Lonnie Loach and Rene Chapdelaine.

I'm ashamed to say I remember all names mentioned in this thread.

How about we recollect obscure Kings memories...

My memory dates back to the 1993-94 season, where the Kings were off to a slow start, and by early December, The Kings were struggling at the time, with a record of 11-15-2 and had lost eight of their previous nine games (with their only win coming against the expansion Mighty Ducks of Anaheim).

So what does Kings management do to shake up the team? They decide to call-up minor league superstar, Dan Currie. And naturally, the Kings immediately insert Dan Currie onto the top line, playing LW on a line with Wayne Gretzky and Jari Kurri. And in his splendorous debut, Currie finds instant chemistry, connecting with two legends. Currie would register a two points with a goal and an assist, with the trio combining for seven points, defeating the Blues 9-1.

Surely, the Kings had found their new Charlie Simmer. But for one night only, as the Kings would go on to lose their next four games and Currie was jettisoned back from whence he came, to the Phoenix Roadrunners.

I recall Bob Miller joking about Currie not being related to Kurri... oh Bob, you zany kook.

I remember watching Dominic Lavoie and his great debut vs Detroit. I watched the game up in Canada on KTLA.

Still remember the smooth move Kyosti Karjalainen made skating across the blueline vs Calgary. He put it between his legs then did a wrap around pass to Millen/Donnelly who cut to the net and scored. Was play of the week on Power stick hockey week LOL!

Pavel Rosa looked very good in his debut too!
Didn't Yachmenev score twice vs COL in his debut?

The guys I remember most are the revolving door at backup goalie the Kings had in the 90s. Seems to me we had three or four of Patrick Roy's backups from Montreal, Frederic Chabot and Andre Rasicot I'm certain went through LA. There was also Rick Knickle, the all-time career minor league games leader for goalies (at the time anyway). Daniel Barthieum (sp?) kicked around until the Kings drafted Robb Stauber.

I seem to recall a few other ex-Habs goalies playing in LA during the Gretzky era or shortly there after. Who am I forgetting?

I think you are thinking of Mario Gosselin, but he was with the Nordiques
