Thanks MSE! I'll be watching the first part of this one, but may not make it to the end (although I said that on Tuesday too!). I really like some of LA's players (Doughty, Kopitar) but I hope they don't do well.

LET'S GO FLYERS - Show up, kick butt, and play 60 minutes. It'll be rough without Shelley, but they're going to have to pull up their socks to fill that 3 minutes of ice time.

I'd be happy with 1 more than the Kings get. It's not asking a lot, but if the rumours of Leighton starting are correct, I'm not holding out much hope.

So..money that Leighton gets a shutout? lol... (ok maybe not but still would be funny). He has a better chance with Timonen in there, but if Kimo cant play, dont know about that one.

Leighton starting will at least be interesting. Either he does well, confuses the goalie situation, and gives us something to talk about, or he bombs and give us something to talk about.

Thanks MSE.....No Pronger.....No Timmonen (possible).....and Leighton's first game (possible)....man this could suck!
It will be interesting to see what Lavi does to limit the suck-itude of Flyers play as of late.

Richards should be there if any forward is there. He was great there before Pronger took over

Not to be the party pooper, but have a gut feeling LA is going to have their way with the Flyers tonight. Leighton in, Timonen probably should sit, and a team who has been not really showing up as of late off of a layoff. This could be the December slide. No big deal though, they were bound to have some stretches like this.

And I somehow caught **** when I said they should put Richards back up top and split up Timonen-Pronger.

We have too many serviceable forwards out there for leeches like Carle and Coburn to be taking PP time from them. If they're going to give it to a defenseman, just give Mez some more minutes.

Would love a win obviously, but I'll be content if we just show up for this one. I don't really want to be choking on my cornflakes while watching. The last 2 games were awful, almost to the point of proving it is possible to suck and blow at the same time.

It's all good, on one of the recent Nhl on the Fly's they were just showing stats how every team that has won the Stanley Cup in the past few years has gone through a regular season slide. So let's be done with that then, and move on with the march to the Cup

I'm also pretty psyched to see how Leighton does. Either way, at least we'll know where we are, that's way better than tiptoeing around the three goaltenders issue.

just a thought how many of the anti-leighton posters here will man up and apologize or give the guy credit if he has a strong showing ???

i suspect NONE, cuz you'll still hate on him and find reason to say it was the team that did teh work not him..

personaly im beyond giving a **** what anyone here thinks about leighton, im just glad to hear he might finaly be in rotation (shame it is a game after their stop in Van, as i REALLY wanted to see him in net)

GO Flyers...

We're not hating on him so much as just recognizing what he is; a goalie who is better than the waiver warrior that he's been for most of his career but no where near as good as a Cup finalist goalie should be. He's just not very good.

Meltzer wrote Zherdev left the ice early yesterday.

Quote:
The Flyers may or may not have Kimmo Timonen (hip) in the lineup tonight. In addition, Nikolay Zherdev reportedly skated off early at practice yesterday and did not return

Here comes our injury bug. Say if Zherdev is out, who steps in? Wellwood?

I was kind of hoping they would do this anyway, just in case Timonen gets gimped again.

Plus, then we can afford to only play Gus on the PP.
