This is so brutal-- what the hell do we do. We're losing by 3 goals every game, the guys look so disorganized and hesitant, no flow...what the hell has happened!!!
I just had to rant...that or I was going to throw my computer out the window. Total freefall a la Sens a few years back. Here's hoping we at least get a top 5 draft pick out of this f-ing mess.
Still lots of time this season to recover, but gawd, their playing terrible now. No offensive flair or imagination at all. Turnover after turnover on defense. Lets see how they play after the roads trip, if more of the same then we need to do something whether its a coaching change or a big trade.
As of late, the forwards aren't competing at all and the veterans on defense have been absolutely terrible. Not a recipe for success.
I'm not worried about guys like Cammy and Gio, as I'm pretty sure they'll get their heads out of their ***** soon. However I am really, really worried about how Spacek and Hamrlik are going to look in March without an Olympic break this year. They can barely skate right now and it's not even halfway through the season. I'm hoping that both see minor injuries so they can get a chance to rest (everyone knows Martin won't give them any).

So........think about this.
The current Habs are the Sens redux.
Sens GM: Pierre Gauthier
Sens Coach: Jack Martin
Sens Chief Scout: Trevor Timmins
So................should we expect different results now that these 3 are mis-managing ther Habs - different team - same results!
I heard Guy Lafleur retired for good. Gauthier should put some pressure on him since he's still able to score goals. His last game at the Bell, he scored 3 goals.
Seriously, it's fun always blaming Spamrlik and etc... but the forwards will have to get their games going. They can't keep the puck in the other zone to save their lives and they don't even have scoring chances. Give your defense a chance to breathe sometimes... For me, offense is still the best defense.
We need a top-6 forward, this is no secret. Whether or not Pierre swings a deal remains to be seen. We should've pried Moulson out of NY while we were at it alongside The Wiz.

Sad thing is,Guy would be in our top 3 for scoring.
its simple , Martin lost his bench.Thats the only explanation for such an OBVIOUS LACK OF EFFORT from almost every players.
Its starting to look that way. I hate rash decisions, but if this is true then you fire him now. Waiting will do nothing.
If it isn't the case, then we need to figure it out soon too. I just don't understand how guys who were out there throwing checks, playing hard and playing smart can all of a sudden become lazy, disinterested idiots. Its the Captain's job and the coaching staff's job to motivate these guys. If Gio and Martin are not doing that, change it up.

Their first + second line forwards are too small - very rarely win puck battles in the offensive zone - if they don't score off the rush they are not likely to score or even get a good scoring chance!
Then again..........the habs are paying the $8 million man that kind of money for something...would you, by chance, know why the Habs are paying Gomer $8 big ones?
Neither do I know!
I can only assume it's not for scoring - somje of our hockey geniuses indicated that Gomer is pulling in $8 million per year for his leadership in the dressing room L O L!
Guy Lafleur was , is , and will forever be a million times better and more awesome than any of the present habs players.Awesome flying hair , spectacular rushes , great stickhandling , good passer , sick and versatile shot , one of the best skater in history , good interviews , winner , not to mention smoking cigarettes on the bench , they don't make them like this anymore.Flower one of a kind.If we had him on our team at the moment people wouldn't be talking **** on him like they are.

Flower in his prime would single-handedly turn this team into a Cup Contender... provided Martin didn't stick him on the third or fourth line of course.
Alas, nobody on this team is even remotely close to 70s Lafleur.
But there is a guy in Calgary right now that might be close, and there's been rumors that he might be available...
