In less than 24 hours, Atlanta will attempt to start another win streak in New Jersey. 5pm game, after a hard fought shootout win tonight. Couple that with a New Jersey team that's starting to look better with their last years coach behind the bench, and we might have our hands full.
Skate hard, consistantly apply pressure, don't let them get into the game at all.
I am actually slightly concerned about this game. The boys played a high, high energy game tonight against a team that makes you skate.
Granted, we are playing a team tomorrow that can't seem to find their ass with both hands and a map, but every dog has its day even a blind squirrel finds a nut from time to time soooooo unless we have some battle in us, the NJ game may be a lot closer than it would be otherwise.
Ahh, if it isn't another Atlanta-New Jersey game....
Some lowdown on the Devils:
Since Lemaire came back, New Jersey is looking a bit more like a real "NHL team" and no longer like some beer league guys out for a skate that forgot or never knew how to play hockey.
(Or as Lemaire put it in his first presser back..... "lost the ability to play the game")
Yes, it's true they still haven't won a game since MacLean has left the team in shambles. However their last game against the Rangers was actually one of the better efforts that the fans have seen since the start of the season. A game where there was actually visible hope of the team getting a victory (not out of luck, or another team forgetting to show up), but by actual outworking and outperforming the opponent. There was actual puck dominance for stretches of the game for NJD, and guys looking for pucks in the dirty areas around the net. That was a 2-1 game, which ended 3-1 loss after an EN goal. Marty had given up a softie (not unusual these days), and the other Rangers goal was a shot going wide that bounced off the already disliked Andy Greene standing idle, and into the net. If the Devils could only get some pucks in the net.....
I'm not saying the Devils will necessarily look good tomorrow or win, I'm just saying Lemaire is already making a strong stamp (again) on the team after only a few games and a few practices.
Anyway, I hope to see a solid effort from both teams..... at least half-way as entertaining as the ATL-BOS game tonight.
Oh, Moose is apparently getting a start.

As has been mentioned, they are playing much better under Lemaire. They should have won against the Rags but Queen Lundpads stole the show.
Zharkov was called up for the last game, and it's about time! He increases the team speed and hockey IQ. Look for a much more organized Devils team, and watch for the players to give a near full game effort. I dare say if they produce the same effort as the last game against the Rags they stand a good chance to win this one.
Not sure about the Rolston situation. I would imagine he would play, but I suppose it's possible that he is waived again and sent to the minors.
