Its really sounding like Zidlicky's season in jeopardy with shoulder injury. Chuck Fletcher said this morning surgery an option

Really a shame- I'm not the biggest Zid guy, but Rick Wilson's been huge for him this year.

I wonder what ramifications this brings about in regards to the Trade Deadline

Zid's signed through 12-13; pretty sure he wasn't going anywhere at the deadline.

Well, TSN said he is out for at least 2 weeks but now, if he has a surgery, we're doomed.

If its surgery, then get it done and over with. We'll have a lot of cap room to play around with at that time and the possibilities of picking someone up is there at least. Rolston?

Well if Lats were to ever come back we would be looking at this in my eyes:

Lats/Kobasew-Koivu-Havlat
Bouchard-Cullen-Rolston
Kobasew/O'Sulli-Brodz-Clutter
Nystrom-Madden-Staubi

Burns-Barker
Schultz-Scandella
Zanon-Stoner/Faulk/Prosser/et al.

Backs
Theo

...at least on paper that is pretty damn good.

You're forgetting about James. Then again why are we talking about forwards when Zidlicky might be out for the season?

Cam Barker on your top pairing is not good by any stretch

lol Well you can't put Burns and Schultz on it because then the 2nd and 3rd pairings go to complete hell. Possibly Scandella and Barker switch out though.

Capgeek has it less than $2M for this year and $2.5M next year. Plus we can always waive him ourselves...

I'm of the mindset that Rolston can stay gone. Personally, I don't really care if James Sheppard ever dons a Wild jersey again.

I'd like to think that Zidlicky being out (and having many of the characteristics Barker does) would help raise Barker's game as he's used better, but that requires him to actually step up. And to be honest, no one is really sure if that will happen but at the moment it's an opportunity.

Everybody needs to really forget about Rolston. Seriously. It's not 2005.

I guess I haven't been all that impressed with Zid's play this year on special teams. I think he was better in previous seasons. Still, there's no replacing him.

The PP as a whole has been terrible except the first two weeks of the season.

At this point, and considering the mediocre effort they've put out most of the year, it's about time to pack it in and start studying the draft rankings.

This likely means Scandella will be up for the remainder of the year.

Its better than calling up Wellman who hasn't done absolutely anything this season so far when he's been called up. As I said, you bring him in for half the season and then just waive him. New Jersey already is footing the bill

He has scored two goals in 21 games this year. Do the Wild really need another over payed aging player on there roster. Let him stay in New Jersey and be their problem.

yeah but Rolston wasn't playing with Bouchard and Havlat. If you bring back Rolston, granted he isn't my first choice either, you have a guy that will shoot and has a great shot. Latendress last year came in and played with Havlat and scored 25 goals. Rolston is veteran who has played with some of these guys before and i believe could come in and have an impact and like BigT said he can waived at the end of the year. Of course if we can find another cheaper option via trade im all for it but i haven't heard anything about that sort of possibility.
