Sopel

He hardly gets a mention but do we really realize what he does for this team?? Quietly he just goes out and does his job - gotta like what he brings

Without a doubt. He is solid. Never going to get attention. Good position. Blocks a ton of shots. A solid bottom pair d-man.

He and Hainsey are deserving of 2nd pairing. I think coach might be noticing that as after the 1st period last night Ron and Sopes had less than half the TOI that Oduya and Bogo had. By the end of the 3rd they were all almost even.

I would really love to keep him after this season. I would love to see what a pairing of Sopel and Johnny O could do as a shut down pair.

I would have no trouble moving Bogo and Hainsey after this season to let Kulda and Zubarev/Postma pairing take over the third pairing duty.

I'd trade Bogosian for a top 6 forward the day that Byfuglien signed a long term contract. I'm not sure that Sopel would re-sign here because of his family situation. He won't move them here.

i agree on re-upping him for another year, he's rock solid and a lead buy example kinda guy....i dont care about the kids in Chicago, theyve earned NOTHING yet..get even younger with 2 of them in the lineup next year? uh, no thanks...LEGIT STANLEY CUP contenders dont toss aside vet D-men for children.

and trading a 20yr Bogo? so shortsighted.

upon first reading this and the prior posts I thought you were talking about Sopes kids.

Was pretty enjoyable few seconds before I clicked in.

To early to think about trading Bogosian. Seems like he is the new flavor of the month to hate on.

For some reaon i get the feeling that if we trade Zach it will end up being another Braydon Coburn and he'll turn into a stud d-man some where else.Except we won't be able to blame DW this time.

Just my gut feeling of which is no consequence to anything.

No way we should trade Bogosian. It's rare for a defensemen to be an all-star type player when he's 20.

Sopel has been incredibly solid. Hainsey is meh.

I agree! talking about trading him is ridiculous right now. He's only 20 what do you expect from a 20 year old?

To be captain and lead the in scoring and score the game winning goal in the olympics and get hat tricks frequently and,,,,,wait, thats Crosby.

Seriously though,Zach needs to stay.
