Larry Brooks reported back in October about Vinny possibly missing the entire season.
Meanwhile, a well-placed source has told The Post that there's little reason for optimism that the condition of Vinny Prospal's right knee will improve following his enforced two-week rest period. Indeed, we're told it would be no surprise at all should the 35-year-old require surgery that would likely end his season, if not his career.
I had a feeling he wouldn't be back at all this season. And even if he did come back, I wasn't sure if he would contribute all that much anyway.
We've been doing fine without him so it isn't such a huge blow. Sure, it would have been nice to have added a healthy Prospal at some point in the season, but we've seen a lot of the young guys step up and take on leadership roles in his absence.
Zucca better stick around now and play decent hockey. With all these injuries to our forwards, not just to Prospal, but also Cally, Feds, Christ, Boo, we need Zucca to be good. You love 5 forwards, it's a big deal.
