Standing ovation for Rinne after mad scramble around our end following a chance at the other...

Pekka picks up the team, hopefully they pickup him at some point tonight...

How's the team look/sound? I just remembered it was on and tuned in.

edit: Did I just hear "Belak" and "O'Reilly" on the same line? Line change?

Belak - O'Reilly - Dumont is the fourth line tonight...

Belak to the box for a cross-check at the offensive end of the ice...Preds to the PK...

Penalty killed, but Jackets maintain possession of the puck, buzz our net before we ice the puck. 36.6 seconds left, but with some guys out there 90 seconds...Trotz uses his timeout.

Lines for the first period:

Wilson - Legwand - Hornqvist
Kostitsyn - Goc - Svatos
Smithson - Spaling - Ward
Belak - O'Reilly - Dumont

Pete finishes the first period broadcast saying "ignore the shot clock folks, the Blue Jackets controlled that period..."

Need to regroup and get back at it in the second. Still 40 minutes left. Rinne playing well, but the team's gotta do something to support him...

Oh, Trotz...

Lines we completely fine against Minnesota, except for a few miscues.

Unfortunately, I think this was a byproduct of Tootoo's absence. Klasen (who hasn't gotten any results yet, pretty plays aside) is out of the lineup and Belak is in. Against Columbus, we do need some toughness out there.

I think more than anything, the quick goal against really took the wind out of our sails and we never got it back last period. As I said, let's regroup during the intermission, get pucks deep, finish your checks, establish a forecheck, and fire, fire, fire away on goal.

Doesn't have to be pretty, but the fact of the matter is this team still needs to show that they can support their goalies with a few goals per game. Certainly didn't help him in that period. Need to tilt the ice...

I like those lines personally. Gives Wilson and Hornqvist a quick, responsible center who can show pretty good offensive instincts in the right situations. Svatos has two guys in Goc and Kostitsyn who can make a pass, and Kostitsyn has two guys who can accept a pass. Spaling centers a good shutdown line. The fourth line I don't really like, but what else is there?

WEBBBERRRRRRR!!! 1-1

WEBER!!!

Wilson brings the puck up ice, around the net, gives it up, gets it back, dishes to Weber eventually for the goal with Hornqvist in front!

Listening on the radio...

Pete and Terry agreed if it was credited to Weber it tipped off a CBJ Dman, if it was credited to Hornqvist, it obviously went off him. I'd say it was likely tipped...

I was putting the coat on to go smoke a cigarette when we scored. Missed the discussion. Thanks.

Ads up 2-0 on goals from Halischuk (Josi) and Bourque (Geoffrion, Blum). I believe both goals were on the PP. 2nd period there too...

Spaling with his 2nd career NHL goal puts the Preds up 2-1! Assists from Ward and Weber...

Weber has two points on the night now. 1G 1A if his goal stands.
