Much better period in the second. 3 goals as a result of hard work, grit, and opportunism.

Shots 18-13 in favor of the Preds after 40 minutes, but more importantly, they lead on the scoreboard 3-1 too!

Can't sit back on this lead. Must stay aggressive, must continue to pay attention defensively, but also need to make sure every puck gets deep in the Jackets end of the rink. Chip it deep, make a hit, grind, cycle, get it to the net!!!

Do it! But only if Columbus scores while I Will Son is on. You know, to be fair

Sounds like the lines are working for this particular game anyway. I know Columbus looks like one of the weaker teams in the conference, but they have almost ALWAYS played us tough. Can't take these division games lightly, even less lightly when you have twenty minutes to hold and extend a two goal lead.

Off topic, but does anyone have a Droid? If so, do you know of any apps that show AHL scores and stats? I've been looking, but there are a TON of sports apps.

OK, ok... Lets hope the Preds continue with their second period effort in the third and we won't have to discuss this again!

Seriously? I don't know. I think Columbus has improved ten-fold. I'd even venture to say that they have a better team on paper than we do, but there aren't many teams that wouldn't. Only matters how the performance on the ice is, which fortunately, is going our way at the moment.

I have an iPhone and just have theAHL.com opened up on the browser whenever I want to check a score. I've found their mobile site to be far less detailed than their full site when it comes to boxscores and stats though, so...

Don't know in particular if they have an app...

FWIW, the AHL Live internet video package is outrageously expensive, like $500+ for the whole year. NHL Center Ice internet video package is I think $189. Let's just say...I won't be buying the AHL package...ever!

Edit: If you're just looking for Admirals coverage, there are several folks you can follow on Twitter like @aaronadmirals (radio PBP guy), @adsroundtable (new Ads blog that has essentially replaced the void left by Short Shifts retirement - some of the same characters too), and @mkeadmirals (official team account). That's how I get the majority of my Ads news...

To be fair, a weaker team in the West is still a tough team. We're actually a "weaker" team in the eyes of a lot of fans. My point, though, is we need to not let up.

edit: To clarify further, if we were playing this well against a Philly, Detroit, Vancouver then I'd say we need to be rolling these lines every night until the wheels fall off. Right now I'll remain skeptical and just say they work for this particular team.

I'll have to just do that, I guess. There's no way I'm paying for another team's app, which is all I found on a search. I won't be downloading every hockey app until I find one, and I won't be caught dead ordering that video package. Stats and boxscores is all I was looking for anyway. I appreciate it

Definitely agreed. I wish we were in the east. We'd have a much easier time, but thus is the life of a Preds fan on the crazy roller coaster.

Ah but having a tough road isn't necessarily a bad thing. We're a tough team to play against, and I think it has a lot to do with necessity. Trotz has found a way to battle these teams every night, and it just so happens he knows a thing or two about that particular system and the players needed to play it. Adversity can be a good thing

Admirals give up an early goal to start the 3rd, still lead 2-1 though...

Lundmark has been giving an assist on the 1st goal now too...
