let's say I want to join Bell Mobility. Do I BUY a microsim from them, and then PAY the activation fee. Afterwards go get one of those 30 days iPad plans

the activation fee is the fee you pay for the sim card, is it not? Then you buy a data plan from Bell, which I believe is month-to-month, and away you go.

because they try to milk every cent out of you

maybe i can learn from someone on this board, and not make the same mistake they did

and Hollywood Bur, usually after you buy a sim for your regular phone you still had to pay that $20-40 activation fee. at least thats what i had to do back in the day

I have a 3 G IPad but I haven't needed to buy the 3G plan yet ( home network and wifi everywhere ) I bought a sim card with my Ipad and was charged something like a dollar for it. I don't think there is an activation charge you simply pay the $ 15 a month without a contract. But as someone said, why don't you call them and ask ?

Can't you share your data from your cell with your Ipad? I thought it's just $5 a month extra. You should call Bell and they'll tell you what to do.

Rogers didn't charge an activation fee.
