Don't you have to pass physicals anymore? And if he was injuried at the time then maybe the Flyers should've had a clause stated when healthy he has to pass a physical or the contract is voided.

that's what i was thinking. look at the point production PaP has playing on the first line with that team. IMO Prucha is worlds better than him when confident. maybe he he'll be a beast over there.

total lack of respect from the Flyers organization, IMO.

Thanks Mike for bringing us to the Stanley Cup Finals.

They should at least have given him a chance to get his job back.

He supposedly passed it, but that doesn't mean you can't still be injured. He tried to play through it in pre-season and couldn't, which is why he was on the shelf to begin with. There was also a dispute on whether or not he was actually ready to come back, and Holmgren issued a warning to the rest of the team after pre-season about a "trust" factor with injuries.

hmmm.... I wonder if it would be worth while for the Habs to take a chance on Prucha. I just wonder if there is no chance for him to get back to his previous form, where he was a scoring forward and could play well defensively.

I just wonder, because we:

Sent down Boyd
Traded Lapierre

Traded for Wisniewski
Called up Desharnais

Depends on how far Prucha has fallen, because we benched a hard working Eller last night, and Gauthier seems to be getting underachieving guys out of our system and bringing in hard working guys. Yotes fans, would he be an upgrade over Pyatt, Desharnais, Boyd.

I know I wouldn't put him in over Eller, just I wonder if Prucha is still hard working and everything +/- of 0 in 11 games seems alright, just 1 goal though.

I know Gauthier is probably not going to be bringing in underachievers, seems like he is clearing house, and have hard working players from top to bottom.

Kostitsyn who had a good game against Atlanta is a question mark as well as Pouliot though he had a good game against Atlanta as well, but they fade away for a couple of games after.

Does Prucha bring it every game or no?

NHL competition is classless.

At least Yzerman is doing it right and giving Randy Jones a job.

Boucher is playing fantastic.

You have to keep Bob up.

It's a business and Leighton was the easiest to try to cut ties with.

Not necessarily true. The Flyers need a backup for next season and cap space for this season to make a potential deadline move.

Sabres should make a claim. He's better than Lalime and Miller needs rest.

It wasn't anyone's job. He signed a contract under the knowledge that he was still competing to be the starting goaltender. He got hurt, signed the contract while hurt. The competition went on without him.

BTW, he still has to be claimed if not sent down, so it's not like he's been exiled, but the Flyers are not happy with how Leighton handled himself after signing the contract.

Apparently, the Isles only make moves to make their current team worse, so they'll pass.

Islanders are close to the cap floor, and do not have a backup goaltender signed for next season. If they still have some guys they want to trade for draft picks, they need others to keep them above the floor, presumably wanting them for next season. Do the Islanders have a goaltender in the minors they project will be on the team as a backup to the brittle Rick DiPietero next year? They're still trying to compete like the other 29 NHL teams, and also cannot trust him to stay healthy, even for the rest of this year.

i could actually see this happening. pretty sure someone will claim him if he's ever on re-entry waivers if it ever comes to that.

Did Holmgren come out and say that? Because it could very easily be the case that they waived him to clear his salary, but would love to keep him for insurance during the playoffs.

He had a back injury that went untreated over the summer because he didn't want to jeopardize his contract. As a result, and as I said, it was an injury that couldn't even get him through pre-season.

You're right. We just gave him the largest contract of his career and gave him the most success he's ever had. Note the word GAVE in that since. He looked great behind a great defense.

But you're right. The Flyers are clearly in the wrong.
