Kostitsyn - Goc - Svatos
Smithson - Legwand - Ward
Klasen - Spaling - Wilson

But I'd really like to see Wilson and Dumont switched...
The only line I like is the Kostitsyn-Goc-Svatos line.

I despise the 71-16-27 line.

I'd form them up like this:

Klasen-O'Reilly-Hornqvist
Kostitsyn-Goc-Svatos
Dumont-Legwand-Wilson
Smithson-Spaling-Ward

I like your idea Seth of putting Wilson with 16 and 27, but I dislike a 71-11-58 line more so.

I also despise seeing an offensive talent like Legwand completely wasted. If he's fit to play, play him in a way to maximize everything he can bring to the table for the team. The Wild aren't a Washington Capitals.

Now, I also wouldn't mind seeing Svatos and Hornqvist paired up if you could find a good center (O'Reilly would work well when he's not slumping).

To be clear, those were the lines I think Trotz will run. They are not the lines I'd design...

I'd go with:

Kostitsyn - Goc - Svatos
Klasen - O'Reilly - Hornqvist
Wilson - Legwand - Ward
Smithson - Spaling - Dumont

those don't look half that bad

We have too many non productive centers. It should be either Spaling or Smithson. Since Trotz has a man crush on Smithson then it will be him.O'Reilly should center one line and Wilson should center one line. One of the reasons that Wilson has been so inconsistent has been is that he needs to be at his natural postion. Legwand centering the checking line and Goc the other one. That is how I see it What happens when Erat comes back and Sully comes back..Then Klaus goes down to Milw and then what. Sully is a month from coming back. So now Svatos takes his place.

This lineup looks great. Will it happen? I doubt it.....because it makes sense! You have been correct before on lineups though.

thank you, if only Trotz had a neck maybe he would have the confidence to keep Wilson on the top 2 lines. But yea those lines will never happen, nothing we can do except cheer on our team.

Wilson and Sk to awesome things together.
Svatos and Leggys speed can open up room for Hornqvist to get in front of the net and be a pest like he is. O'reilly and Dumont have not been doing much lately so I put them down on the 3rd line with Klasen, and that line should have the ability to put up points as well. Then Spaling with Smitty and the incredible Joel Ward...

How did Svatos look last night? I see he only had 10 minutes of ice time, but I'd assume he was still getting used to the NHL speed again.

Had a few decent chances, made kind of a stupid penalty, but overall I think he played alright. I think he'll do fine paired up with Legwand.

He is a shooter! If it was Legwand or Wilson that passed......he shot. That's all I've got for now

I don't expect much for another 4-5 games while he re-adjusts to the NHL and learns the Preds system.

Just like when he was on teh Avs, he will disappoint. But what I don't get is that a lot of folks are saying he is a chemistry killer...any links of proof? If so, this follows up the bonehead Moss signing of the Titans.

desperate times call for desperate measures... as long as he outperforms Mueller or Belak hes not a disappointment

Poile catches flak from all sides. If he doesn't make a move and we fail to make the playoffs or the second round people bemoan his inactivity. If he does make a move it has to be for a low-cost/high-risk type player due to the Weber and Suter contracts looming. Then it's "another guy who will be a bust" ringing out. Let's let Svatos have his four or five game period to adjust both to the NHL again and to his team. If he doesn't pan out we can move him down, pay him $110k, and try again.
