Voted for Chris Thomas even though I know he won't win this round because I want to come back here a year or two from now and say, "See, I was the first one to recognize his talent."

Also because he has the most upside of any of our remaining players. I don't think anyone would be shocked if he became a first liner. He may not be guaranteed that, but I like high-risk, high-return prospects.

The guy scores almost every game in the OHL, a good defensive league. This isn't like running up your point total in the QMJHL.

He will likely have 90-100 points. I know his size is a concern, but there are plenty of offense-first players his size who've had very successful careers.

Add Ethan Werek.

Voted MZA. I think he'll be quite the player once he finishes adapting.

Add Werek.

I think Thomas will turn out to be a steal, personally. I just like MZA better since he is already in the NHL, where Thomas is a couple of years away.

Sauer. I think he can develop into a second pairing d-man and he's already a very capable bottom pairing guy. He's the closest to sticking in the NHL for the rest of his career IMO.

Add Werek.

Ive been hyping Sauer for awhile, but I cant in all fairness justify him as #3.

Voted MZA.

Why is Grachev listed already? Guy has 17 goals in 112 AHL games.

I don't think he has the most upside, but it's going to take guys like MZA and Thomas a lot more to make it in the NHL then he will. I'm on both their wagons, but I can't justify listing them as top 3 prospects with their size issues.

He's our most complete prospect, IMO.

Complete as in hes a 3rd pairing guy, a good 12 minute dman with some PK time.

My comparisons to Girardi were a bit optimistic. It is unlikely he becomes much more than he is now on a consistent basis, as he is near done his development.
In other words, I dont think he has the speed to be a top 4 defenseman.

I probably should have voted McIlrath.

Ehh, I think he can be a second pairing guy. But that's why he's still a prospect.

I made it clear last round that I didn't want him up there, but people voted for him. I don't make the decisions, I just count the votes.

MZA. Add Werek.

It was a tough choice, though. Sauer was up there as well, but I like what MZA brings more as an offensive player. Sauer is definitely next on my voting list, though.

McIlrath add Werek.

Long term here. Sauer tops out as a 5/6, maybe a 4. Nothing wrong with that - truly reliable guy and an asset to any team. Comparing long term between MZA and McI - gotta go with McI. He's headlining a defense on a **** team and somehow helping to keep them afloat.
