Bottom line to me is that either situation is an uphill battle and is a rarity.

One thing though is that Perfect Games and No Hitters are not necessary to take a W and move on... When down 0-3 a team must win every remaining game to continue, so there is no room for error. There is however pressure in both situations; in the Perfecto the pressure builds as the feat progresses... with the comeback the pressure is on at the outset.

But Apples and Oranges... no real comparison is possible... In the end, the votes of people to decide the top sports moment is all we have as I see it.
Who is massaging numbers?

Go out and win Game 1, you never have the opportunity to come back from 0-3 down...

Pitching a perfecto... there is literally no room for error (for both the pitcher and the players behind him). You can make errors and still win a game.

And, yes, as noted, you need to make a distinction between individual and team accomplishment/importance. Clearly winning 4 in a row down 0-3 had more meaning to the Flyers' season than Halladay's perfecto or no-no.

No insult intended... I merely believe that anyone who is compiling facts and figures and presents them does so as they see fit -- nothing wrong with that when done honestly as we have -- in that, they massage the numbers before presentation... to do so in a manner as to better get their point across.

I also believe that while numbers don't lie, they can be presented with different slants... and numbers often tell more than one story.

I usually look at all the numbers and how they are put together before accepting them as the answer. As you can see I took the numbers at a point that I believe better fit the Flyers situation going in... and the odds changed over 63%. At times it's all in how the numbers are presented.

EDIT: BTW, I was saying that I was massaging the numbers.

I was thinking something more along the lines of "The School of Athens" as Lavi being Plato. Various Flyers would fill in as the other students.
