It sucks. If you are there when the gates open, you can get a spot in between the blue lines and have a very good view. That spot is elevated above the seats. You can also get in spot in one of the "Madhouse Bars" which are in opposite corners below the seats in the 300 level. Get there late, you will be behind the goal where you the seats are at the same level as you so you will need to try to stand on your tip toes to see anything.
Youre better off just buying nosebleeds. Thats where I sat opening night and the view was actually really good
There is quite a price difference, though. Looking at the Flyers game on Stubhub, Jan 23rd, as an example you can get SROs for $28 each while the cheapest 2 seats together is $69

Exactly, the cost of a hotel, gas, make it so I NEED to go cheap on tickets. Stubhub has tickets starting as low as 35 for feb. 20th.

Wait and the price will go down. Thats what I did for the home opener, maybe 2 months in advance tix were near $200 pre fees, I bought tickets like 2-3 days prior for $127 with all the fees. Granted its a risk, but its more than likely worth it

I agree but it depends on the game. Your chances for ticket prices going down against Detroit or Vancouver is probably pretty slim. It also depends if its on the weekend or weekday and if its a day game or night game and if there's a giveaway that night etc. etc.

Chances arent slim for them to go down against Detroit. Thats who they played opening night, and it was the banner drop...I'd say that would be a high-demand game, and my dad and I got tickets significantly cheaper the nights before than months before

If you're looking at TicketExchange, sure. Those tickets will be marked way above face-value and then will drop when it gets closer to the game... doesn't mean you'll get them cheap though, especially against Detroit or other rivals. I've seen SRO tickets go for 70+ bucks against the Wings last year... they're like $25 face value.

I got mine from stubhub. Obviously tickets for rivalry games arent going to drop below face value, but price will drop the closer it gets to game day.
They'll drop only because the ticket holders list them at ridiculous prices early on. They will still be very expensive close to gameday. Season ticket holders set their prices to where they are making enough to warrent not going.
